Dogmatic Tower
Yes. He turned Marx on his head and decided that the actual working class was incapable of revolutionary consciousness (and was in fact potentially counter-revolutionary ) on the grounds that they were as invested in the capitalist system as the bourgeoisie. The raw material of revolution could only be found among groups who were at most marginal and/or illegitimate participants in the capitalist system, and preferably outside it completely. The role of intellectuals was to teach these groups how and why they were waging revolution against oppression and exploitation just by existing , and then organize them for a decisive confrontation against both the bourgeoisie and the proletariat.

It's behind a paywall, but Ha'aretz is calling this "Holocaust Denial".

I know the general premise but did he actually say "let us use the lumpenproletariat" by name?

I got nothing. So according to the virulently anti-semitic website Jewish Telegraphic Agency, the official numbers are just a lie made-up by Simon Wiesenthal that no one has taken the time to correct in the last 40 years (but the rest of the story is true!).

‘Remember the 11 million’? Why an inflated victims tally irks Holocaust historians

WASHINGTON ( JTA ) — “Five million non-Jews died in the Holocaust.”

It’s a statement that shows up regularly in declarations about the Nazi era. It was implied in a Facebook post by the Israel Defense Forces’ spokesperson’s unit last week marking International Holocaust Remembrance Day. And it was asserted in an article shared by the Trump White House in defense of its controversial Holocaust statement the same day omitting references to the 6 million Jewish victims.

Did anyone understand what Thomas meant by the New Deal program as a means toward US hegemony and a reordering of race relations?
Thomas777
I'd begin by reading, ''The New Dealer's War'' by Thomas Fleming - very briefly, the New Deal represented an effort to 1) Completely restructure/re-order American race, ethnic and class relations, 2) Dismantle the Westphalian political order in favor of a basically communistic ''world society''. Some elements of this mission were successful, some failed - others (state socialism, industrial nationalization, etc.) were deliberately abandoned for various reasons and amidst political and economic developments that were unforeseen, could not be 'modeled' in advance and the like.
