I missed this conversation, but it sounds like a ridiculous attempt to deconstruct the phrase 'radical traditionalism' by means of etymology. RT refers to a radical rejection of modernity in favour of tradition, not some kind of radicalising archaeologism with regard to tradition itself. People who want to 'radicalise' a tradition are called liberals.

I don't see any distinction then between the way you define radical traditionalism and orthodoxy properly understood. A radical rejection of modernity by the way need not imply an embrace of tradition. You can reject modernity even from classical Epicurean grounds and still remain hostile to all religions and traditions. Conversely, radicalizing a tradition doesn't make you a liberal. If you read Rousseau Social Contract the last chapters on the civil religion and the chapter on the legislator earlier you see that he's trying to radicalize some traditions but the conclusions are anything but liberal. In fact those who place great weight on the creative act of founders of religion almost never come to liberal conclusions about human nature.

I don't know what you meant by radical traditionalism in the context. But movements ostensibly based on 'going back' to the founder or early period of a religion - examples are the Reformation and Wahhabism - usually do so because they believe tradition to be unreliable. They are the contrary of traditionalism.
