The Free Republic website has just completed its second quarter Freepathon.
In June 2002 Texas gave FR $7,222.00 This time Texas gave FR $2,883.00 This is a reduction of 60%
It seems the folks who know MsAntiFeminazi (leader of the Texas Chainsaw Massacre Moderator gang) best have spoken the loudest.
In June 2002 Pennsylvania gave $1,884.00 This time Pennsylvania was in for $1,212.00 This is a reduction of 35.6% It seems those who know Dales best have voted too.
All the while New York the home state of one of the decent moderators gave $1550.00 versus $1016.00 up 50% and Vermont, another home state of a fairminded moderator gave $70.00 versus $30.00 up 133%
FR has at least 1/3 more sign ups now than it had in June 2,002 and it raised a third less money.
Does this pryamid have a jello base or what?
I want to take this opportunity to thank the one moderator who has written me.
Anyone else want to speak up?

Give these two a little more time and they can do for all of Freeperdom what
they have done for their home states.
You do understand the law of diminishing returns, don't you?

Not to worry; the RNC will make up the difference. Move along--nothing to see
here...

FreeRepublic has become dull. Robinson censors the forum with a very heavy
hand and literally drives anyone who doesn't agree with Bushonian Republicanism
off of the site.
It is a very easy site to get yourself banned.

I have never given up hope that JR will wake up and turn FR over to someone
with enough intelligence to run the site and allow it to fullfill its original
promise.

You seem to be itching to tell us who the moderators are. How does one find
out that information? The mods certainly aren't keeping it quiet in their
circle, I bet.

Of course, how could I have forgotten? Flyover country is losing interest, but JR can follow in the steps of WF "we don't need these people" Buckley. :thd:

That is precisely the direction that FR and the RNC are headed in. For example, I noticed a fair amount of FReepers on a thread about some RNC effort to "reach out" to the gay vote supported the initiative. One even said that the pro-family Christians and the like in the party "weren't delivering votes anyway." It seems that they are quite content to get the votes by adopting liberal policies and courting liberal constituencies. The "if you can't beat 'em, join 'em" attitude.

Might be a good time to read JR's response to me as he banned me from FR. Forum Page

This is an interesting quote from JR actually.
> **To let you know where I stand politically, I believe completely in the U.S. Constitution. The federal government should be strictly limited to the the dozen and a half powers granted it by We the People and enumerated in Article I of the U.S Constitution. The congress and the courts should not be eroding away the Bill of Rights. Most of the ABC agencies set up by the federal government are unconstitutional and should be abolished. The federal government was not intended by our founders to be involved in crime or social issues. These were reserved for the states and the people and should be under local control. The founders did not intend for a huge and powerful central government. And they did not intend for the people to be taxed on their income. The 16th amendment should be repealed and the Income Tax and the IRS abolished. The war on drugs should be ended. Federal meddling into our personal affairs and businesses should be stopped. The 17th amendment should be repealed and the balance between federal and state powers should be restored.
I am no fan of expanding federal power. I am not in favor of "compassionate" conservatism. Nor am I in favor of federal involvement in education or any other social issue. I am not in favor of expanded security at the cost of lost liberty. I want no part of a national ID card. I support the 2nd amendment as I do the 1st and the 3rd through 10th.**
JR still likes to talk that old paleolibertarian talk on occasion. You can see how it fools some new or inexperienced people who don't yet realize how much of charade it is.

I don't take money from papists, Walter.
No! Just kidding, I promise. :clown:
I used to have a contribution page up with a paypal link and the PO Box address, but I took it down some time back for lack of use. Right now the expenses are not that great and I would have a hard time ever asking for donations outright. We're ok where we are at right now, but there are areas I've thought about expanding into that lack of resources has kept me from such as incorporating, etc. I've always envisioned a umbrella organization like 'Center for National Reclamation' or something like that. Similar to what Antiwar or VDARE has. But the bottom line is I don't have the personal funds to do that sort of thing.
Of course the way the Neos are charging, I may require legal help at some point in the future, so if you know any good pro bono lawyers....

Okiereddust,
How easy it is to project the rhetoric, then trash every solid conservative that would voice dissent and condemn the NeoCons. If JR would just be honest about himself and the fraud that he runs, one could just avoid the site.
The issue has always been, what is a "real conservative". The general public sees all the corruption and hypocrisy and falsely concludes that the FR neocon version of a conservative is representative of the philosophy.
How many times have you received reader mail that says you must be a Liberal? Those idiots are watching Hannity.
Time to present a positive image for paleos that represents individual Liberty.

JR banned me for saying ITZ one too many times, which is his undisputed right. It's his property, after all.
JR seems to be a decent enough fellow, but he's clearly not a deep thinker in a philosophical sense. He has generally conservative positions that he really doesn't understand. He runs on instinct, I'd say. I think that his generally instinctive conservative orientation combined with his powerful computer skills - skills that few conservatives had at the start of the internet boom - combined to make FR a success.
FR's achilles heel was the shallowness of JR's political convictions, which are not really grounded in much beside JR's feelings about things. This left FR open to infiltration by the Trotskyites - people who know exactly what they're about and why they're about it. It's astonishing that he doesn't see that FR is actually run by the ideological grandchildren of Lev Bronshtein, and that his baby FR has been infiltrated by the very Communists that he and his dittoheads purport to fight, but there you have it.
They do some good, I'd say. They are very effective in supporting important side issues like shall-issue CCW statutes, decreased marginal income tax rates, school vouchers, and resistance to federal incursions on land rights. They're useful in this respect, but also because FR is sort of a back door to our Paleo world - as the above thread indicates, folks quickly tire of the heavy-handed censorship. Some of them (like yours truly) even find their way to OD. They'd make a useful front organization for us.

TD's working on that, in close collaboration with Il Ragno and NeoNietzsche.
He's due to issue a report on my progress soon.
Stay tuned!
