Today I received a piece of mail from an organization that styles itself "Jews for Jesus"- On the outside of the envelope are the pictures of Stalin, Hitler, and Henry Ford. The caption reads: " Guess What These Men Had In Common" - "See inside- the Truth May Surprise You". Upon reading this, I thought. "If there is any truth inside, I'll be surprised!"
Well, as it turns out, you see, all three of these men "expressed hatred for Jewish people." Hmm. I'll let the OD regulars "deconstruct" this statement. On reading the International Jew, I didn't so much get the impression that Ford hated Jews, but was rather critiquing their behavior and influence on his land.
Anyhoo, the letter gives us an obligatory holocaust survivor story, in which the hapless Rose Price recounts how every time she was beaten, the guard told her "Jesus told us to hit you! Jesus hates you!"
Blah, blah, blah, bottom line, help convert the Jews into Jews for Jesus, and send money to David Brickner to support this ministry. For a gift of $50 dollars or more, they'd like to send me a copy of the Survivor Stories video. I'll be moved as I listen to these Holocaust victims share their painful stories- [about when the Auschwitz swimming pool had to be closed for cleaning? When the camp band played off-key one night?] and encouraged as they explain in their own words how they accepted Jesus into their lives.
There you have it, a tour de force combining Evangelical Christianity with Holocaust-ism to create a super-fund raising monster. Huzzah!

Funny you should say that considering the fact that Jewish tradition denounces Jesus as the bastard child of a Roman legionary. In other words, Jews themselves don't even consider Jesus Jewish.

Read the Talmud once in a while and you'll see that Jewish tradition holds that Jesus was not a Jew. It should also be noted that most Jews in the world don't have lineage back to Ancient Israel but to Khazaria region in Russia.
Also it must be mentioned that Jesus's teachings have nothing in common with orthodox Talmudic Judaism. As Prodigal Son said, Christianity is a refution of Judaism as Buddhism is to Hinduism.

Certainly true, AY. I would only add that the same phenomenon is observed among white anti-missionary activists towards white Christians and other various religious affiliations. To my mind this says something more about the uniqueness of Christianity than any other consideration. But good points, nonetheless.

I could not disagree more. I am Catholic. I love Jews For Jesus. Its real and heartfelt, its not a scam. There are Jews who missionary for Jesus and through adversity cut ties with their heritage of Judaism. Its real and I was a part of it last week. I was in Providence, Rhode Island. In the hot sector of night life. I was approached by a young man who tried to preach Christianity to me. He was a member of Jews for Jesus. We talked. He suffers the disapproval of his parents. But he's born again. He is someone I would be proud to call a friend. There are real Jews for Jesus.. REAL. How sad that you cannot accept this is real and want to put a negative spin on it when no negativity exists. It speaks of your own moral vacuum. I have the literature, and Ive known about J4J for years..just like you and your false assumptions. But I ran into a real trooper. Guess what.. you live with your own heart.. you live with your own DEEDS. Reconcile... the Jew problem today or in the 20th cent has nothing to do with Jesus or those who love Him.

Yes, they have a regular t.v. program on a Canadian religion channel. Theyââ¬â¢ve been around for a long time, and theyââ¬â¢ve remained a very marginal phenomenon within the broader Jewish community. All the males had yarmulkes on, a little detail that I found puzzling.

As long as they serve to destroy the cohesion among the Jews, and not further accelerate the degeneration of Christianity into Judeo-"Christianity", they are good. But I doubt they will be more Christian than American Judeo-"Christians". Why should they, given the religious climate and the background they came from?

I was Roman Catholic most of my life. Was raised Catholic, went to Catholic gradeschool, then Catholic highschool, studied theology, was a altar boy, (etc, etc, yadda, yadda, fine print)... You know what? The above quote represents a typical reason why I bailed on them and converted to Lutheranism... that condescending, self-superior, overly judgemental attitude is partly the reason why I left.. you got a lot of gall coming in here and flaming us for passing judgement on the Jews when you are guilty of doing the same thing (It speaks of your own moral vacuum.. etc, etc) or am I wrong in thinking only the Almighty can do that? And let's not forget that Pride is a sin as well too.. seems you refined that to an art form with that smug attitude of yours.
Your little post was designed to ellicit an emotional response from us, not an intellectual one (his parents don't approve, how sad. Isn't that just sad?). If I had a dollar for everytime I did something my folks didn't like, I'd be looking at buying a new Ford F350 Quad-Cab. So what if his parents don't approve? This guy is over the age of 21 I presume? I love my parents very much, but I am my own man. I make my own decisions for good or bad and I haven't taken anything from anyone since I was 16.
As usual, you use the dog-eared ploy that Catholics use whenever pressed with something they cannot really square with reality and that's the: "Jesus loves us all, no matter what they are" trick. The Jews killed him. Presently, the Jews are trying to destroy the greatest Republic in the history of the world which was founded on Christian beliefs by white Christians. The Jews, as far as I'm concerned, can go to hell. I want nothing to do with them.
