I am listening to this once again and am blown away by how intelligent it is and yet how much it does not sacrifice emotion. Unlike most pop, which either screams "pay attention to meeeeeee!" or complains about something in weepy overtones, this music is about the bonding of human and machine to achieve new heights constantly. It is always moving forward, past the tragedy and loss and fear, toward the fun, playful, brave and hopeful.

(It can be found in my soulseek stash.)

Man, and I thought I was probably the only person at OD who listened to that! :th: Sure, it isn't for everyone, but it's for me.

Prozak, your description of this album has inspired me to dust it off and give it another listen. Some electronic music blows me away -- like all pre-Trainspotting Underworld -- but I've found Kraftwerk a bit harder to crack.

By the way, can someone tell me why as a registered user I am unable to start new threads in this sub-forum?

I can, kinbote. With the new software I have restricted New Members (0 to 14 posts) from the ability to create new topics anywhere. This prevents trolls from registering and creating a slew of disruptive topics throughout the board. They'll have to make 15 posts within existing threads first and I believe we have a fair shot of tagging and bagging them by then.

Thanks for the explanation. I can see why this policy is necessary -- the great mass of Westerners have been indoctrinated into the notion that white nationalism constitutes the greatest evil of the day. Obviously you need a filter to keep these people off, unless they can engage the ideas in a constructive way.
