September 9, 2003 -- A handful of demonstrators - most of them out-of-towners - showed up yesterday to protest the country's first stand-alone high school for gays, but they were drowned out by hundreds of supporters.
Cops positioned the two groups on opposite sides of the street at Harvey Milk HS at 2 Astor Place, as it opened its doors to 72 students and seven teachers.
"For those who say this school is not necessary, I would refer you to some of the slogans on the placards of the protesters," said City Council Speaker Gifford Miller - pointing to placards that read, "God hates fags" and "Sodomy: It's to die for."
"I'm here to preach at this because this is wicked. Something is terribly wrong with this. It is an abomination before God," countered Ruben Israel, 42, from Los Angeles.
"The city has spent millions of dollars specifically for the [gays], promoting [gay] ideas," said Megan Phelps-Roper, 17, from Topeka, Kan. "Not only is it against your own laws, prohibiting sexual discrimination, but it is against God's laws."
Religion and holy writ were also invoked by many of the more than 200 people, most of them New Yorkers, who turned up to support the students, who were quickly ushered past police barricades into the school.
"I'm here as a Christian," said supporter Bob Griffith, 42, of Manhattan. "The kind of sentiment being expressed [by the protesters] is not true to what God would have us do." :dung:
Supporters of the school waved rainbow flags and held up signs such as "God is Love," and "Happy 1st day of School."
Some in the contingent chanted directly at the protesters: "Two, four, six, eight, sodomy is really great!"
Schools Chancellor Joel Klein said he wished the critics would leave the "small and vulnerable population" at Milk HS alone.
"I'm just saddened by it," he said. "The most important thing is the school is open. People are teaching and learning."
Klein added that the school is not strictly for homosexuals and that any student can apply.
Klein said many students who dropped out of other high schools have graduated from the Milk program and gone on to college. The new school is an expansion of a 18-year-old program - a smaller version of Harvey Milk HS has been in operation for gay and lesbian students since 1985.

Why exactly do gays need a public school of their own? I have yet to hear at least one good argument.
"We must protect gays cause they get bullied."
Well usually if gays would simply shut up and act normal, than they wouldn't get bullied. I was bullied in public school because of my Slavic name, but I never asked the government to build seperate schools for Slavic-Americans. Although such schools do exist in predominately Slavic neighborhoods, but they're private not public schools. If bullying is such a big problem for gays, then gays can set up their own private schools(just don't tell the public whats in the cirriculum).

Most Christians range from frauds to eunuchs. They think standing up for what is right is bigotry. So, instead of demanding that the government not use their money to promote sodomy, they tell the sodomites "Jesus loves you..."
Rev. Fred Phelps stands squarely on the Bible, yet 95% of those who call themselves Christian sooner condemn Phelps than sodomizers. Doesn't Jesus love Phelps?

Note that one of the demonstrators againt the homo school is Ruben Israel.
How interesting given that almost all gay activists are Jews. His participation on the right side serves 2 purposes. First, one reason they promote fagdom is it's divide and conquer value and this is best done by playing and instigating both sides. Second, having a visibly Jewish (his name) anti-gay activist serves to diffuse criticism that Jews promote queerness.
Gentiles are so gullible.

travis, agreed. Jews use this tactic all the time and nobody notices it!
Okay, the gays have their own school now. Whats next?? they want their own country??

Even for Christians, it's a low point. **
There's nothing sacred about a homosexual's funeral.
BTW, I have listened to one of Phelp's sermons (the most recent one) and he says that homosexuals are Jews are almost the same thing and that homosexual groups are led by Jews. He's right again, even if he is sometimes tasteless.

Tex, Okie, Wiesbot, Hacker: you should think upon these things.

I did see that Calvin thread. As I remember, it started out with a polemic against Calvin that contained poorly documented accusations, or rather, insinuations that Calvin was a homosexual. I found the essay to be just as thoroughly Talmudic as the motive behind its presentation here.
I'll think on it, but I'll also consider the worth of advice from those who have an inconsistent commitment to their self-trumpeted principles. I suppose you could attribute this inconsistency to one's efforts to..."evolve", perhaps. But maybe this evolution would be better served at a more appropriate venue, say, Burning Man or some other spiritually significant nexus.

** I do not dislike Christians because they are Christian. I dislike JudeoChristians for opening the door to Jews: "Come on in, Jew! Care for a drink? A sandwich? Dip? Pretzels? Want to mess up our country? Go right ahead! We won't say a word -- we'll just call you guys 'liberals' and let it go at that!"
Well, the point is that not all Christians are like that. It should be one of our goals to not only advance the positions and standing of Christians who aren't (hence my constant plugs for Orthodoxy) and to harm the standing and influence of those Christians who are.
Our animus for Ralph Reed and Jerry Falwell probably can't hold a candle to how Weisbrot and Tex feel about them...
Let the healing begin!

** Maybe you "pagans nationalists" might be better advised to quit fighting the Jews, and join forces fighting the "true enemy" you both obviously have in common, Christianity. In fact you have a lot more else in common than you realize. When you start working together formally you'll probably soon be having Falwell style "lovefests".**
If you'll go to the top of the thread, you'll see that I chastize Franco for putting all Christians in a single category. This approach, I said, is not only untrue, but harmful, because it limits efforts to limit or alter the behavior of some (many?) Churches and denominations that are engaged in efforts that are very harmful to our race collectively.**
