Kissin(ger)? Yes it is rather obvious. I am trying to get a confirmation, other than deconstructing the name, that the violin prodigy Yevgeny Kissin is jewish. I can't find it on the net or at joohoo. Thanks for replying.

Well, he's a Russian Jew (obviously) and the name is a dead give-away. Russian surnames begin with a proper name or a town name and end with an -in, -ov, -ev or occasionally -ski. (e.g. Ivan-ov, Petr-ov, Andrey-ev, etc...) Kiss-in is not an ethnic Russian surname. Of course, his phenotype is a dead give-away as well:

I'd be hard-pressed to find anyone more 'Jewish-looking' than this guy.
