Over on another thread, I noticed this dialogue from our fearless leader about the forum.

Whenever our site administrator or the people working on our brand new forum get to it, we'll have that and forum html up and running.  But he's a little slow...

Hey I resemble that comment. :)

Actually, if you notice down at the bottom of each page here you'll see a copyright type line that states invision board v1.2 rc1. The rc1 stands for release candidate 1. I'm patiently waiting for the final v1.2, so I can then mod the board adding the Links back in without having to do it over and over with every release candidate they put out until the final version. It should be very close now.

Just noticed that links icon is back, and new version is up. :th:

One question for TD. When will HTML be operative? And are there any wonderful new features with this new version you wat to tell us about?

HTML is operative for Senior Members enclosed within the special 'dohtml' tag. Simply begin the html coded post with ['dohtml'] (no quotes) and close the tag as usual [/'dohtml'] (no quotes).

Everything else in the upgrade was simply improving some internal functionality, speed, security and a few cosmetic issues. What we have now will probably be the final version for quite some time.

The tool is in place, but the content is up to each member participating. I hope everyone will use it wisely and responsibly, but perhaps most importantly, enjoy our time here in fellowship while we are still yet able. Sure we have our ups and downs, but I don't know of any other place on the internet that has our unique mix of members, philosophy and topics of debate. True nationalists, conservatives and traditionalists are protected here and will continue to be as long as I am at the helm. Most of you never see it, but I turn away a good deal of riff-raff at the door. This is not a libertarian board and I take my duties as owner/administrator very seriously. Those who want to participate should take off their shoes when entering the hallowed halls of this cyber-catacomb and show respect to our members here. The OD banner we all congregate under represents a greater cause that is noble, just, true and righteous. Sounds a bit goofy, I know, but I really do believe that and hope each of you do as well.

Best of all I guess is that it's free! :th:

And we thank you for it, though not nearly enough.

I will second that. You have produced a fine internet forum.

I tried it and it works fine. See Treason Lobby Beware - An Coulter Takes Aim At Immigration

Seen it done before here but never tried it. Its easy. Instead of cutting and pasting text from the web page, just go to the source document. That's it. For websites with a lot of links its very nice as it preserves them.

Thanks again Tex :)

I first came here and caused trouble. Hopefully I will be able to stir up even more trouble, albeit in a more respectful manner. This is the best board I have ever stumbled upon and the only one, even though infrequently, I post at. I have a lot to learn. I am still a youngster considering the "vintage" characters I have seen here. Thanks a million Tex.

Edit: BTW, nice links page.

Libertarians believe in private property. If TexasDissident owns OD, or is an agent of the owner, it is perfectly in keeping with libertarian philosophy for him to censore the hell out of anyone he wants to on OD.

Indeed it is, and let me say this: If any member here wants to change their name or handle here on the board, then they simply need to contact me and make the request. As long as it is nothing obscene I will do it with a simple administrative function and that way everything else in their particular account will remain unchanged i.e. # of posts, member level, etc. This is the correct procedure that respects the integrity of the board and all of its members.

Thanks.

No insinuation was made to the contrary, for you or I'm sure many others out there. But for the time being we can consider ourselves fortunate, and I would personally say blessed, with a site owner who is determined to make any personal time or financial burdens secondary to the goal of operating an open, free website where those who share our objectives of restoring the national independence and fortunes of America's and the West's founding peoples can participate free of any burdens and distractions.

At times I can fancy the burdens even in just participating as measurable. I can imagine what the sacrifices involved in keeping this thing up and running are. It is after all something JR claims requires roughly half a million dollars and 24/7 of his own time to keep FR up and running. Even allowing for a couple of extra-big FR grains of salt and the smaller size of this forum, I'm sure this forum is not immune from such time and financial costs, and that without ever asking for such, any contributions one wants to give in terms of finances or other help we can give the forum such as advertising will always be appreciated.
