Bush Appoints Daniel Pipes to Think Tank

Friday August 22, 2003 11:19 PM

WASHINGTON (AP) - President Bush bypassed the Senate Friday and appointed an outspoken Middle East scholar to a federal think tank over the objections of Democrats and others who say he is anti-Muslim.

Bush appointed Daniel Pipes, director of the Philadelphia-based Middle East Forum, to the board of the U.S. Institute of Peace.

The White House, which made the announcement in a statement released in Burbank, Wash., where Bush was visiting, called him a well-respected scholar.

His supporters include a number of Jewish groups such as the American Israel Public Affairs Committee and the Anti-Defamation League.

Critics call Pipes an extremist who should not be named to a peace organization. Democrats on the Senate Health, Education, Labor and Pensions Committee have raised strong objections to Pipes' nomination, forcing the panel to postpone a vote on the appointment.

The appointment won't be valid until the next Congress is sworn in, which would be January 2005.

Pipes is a Harvard-trained scholar who, as head of the Middle East Forum, has called for a war on Islamic extremism, declaring in one post-Sept. 11 interview, ``What we need to do is inspire fear, not affection.''

The Council on American-Islamic Relations, a Washington-based civil rights group, said Pipes is known for his hostility to Muslims,'' and called the appointmenta backdoor move'' that is ``an affront to all those who seek peace.''

I'm sure he'll also advise Bush on how "pathetic" and "stupid" the Russians are as he constantly demonstrates in his books on Russian history. :thd:

Too bad Pipes isn't being thrown into a shark tank instead.

Hey guys,

This is great news! I want you to consider this. Pipes is one of the most obnoxious of the tribe and when you consider the utter hopelessness of this administration to ever to do anything that we would approve of that we should hope that they continue to appoint jews like Pipes to evey position of high visability possible.

In short, instead of the b@stards running things in the background through their front men of shabbos goys, that here they are out in the open for everyone to see.

I see this as a net gain, for afew more people will have the scales removed from their eyes and see who our real enemies are.

You are right. I see America's war against Islam as a gain for our course. First of all, the majority of Muslims are third world citizens. People in Latin America and Asia will consider America's, Europe's and Russia's war in these middle East areas as an act of aggression. The result will be more polarization in the world. Think of Malasia's president who made pretty explicit remarks about the Zionist driven globalization and the link between globalization and the war on terror. Furthermore, the jewish war on Islam will divide the left. This is already happening in Germany where the pro US and pro Israel Antigermans are at the throats of the Anti-imperialists. Overall, the left is the pet of the Jews. The war on Islam will put more and more Jews against their leftist street soldiers. Another good result of the war on Islam is the reverse assimilation process of Europe's muslim population. This will lead to increased fear and rejection of the native population. The projewish left will get problems harvesting the muslim vote. The muslim vote hurt Labour big time in the recent elections in Britain. The same goes for France, where the communist party has lost all control of the muslim population.

I hope awareness of the clever tribe increases because of their overtness but I doubt it. The tribal masterminds carefully guage the level of "anti-semitism" and maintain it at a level low enough to to minimize the backlash from the goyim but high enough to keep their lesser bretheren afraid of us and therefore cohesive. If, as a result of the internet exposure and the exposure they voluntarily subject themselves to, an uncontrolled surge of anti- semitism hits them, they'll just scale back a little, change names like they did in Hollywood in the 30's and 40's and let a little time pass for the goyim to forget, and continue at a slower pace.

Hey, isn't that what the VNN guy says all the time? And everyone says he's the bad guy.
