Israel's Red Flag on Iran

Wednesday, August 13, 2003: (Washinghton Post) A grim warning from Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon to President Bush that Iran is much closer to producing nuclear weapons than U.S. intelligence believes has triggered concern here that Israel is seriously considering a preemptive strike against Iran's Bushehr nuclear reactor.
Sharon dramatized his forecast by bringing Maj. Gen. Yoav Galant, a three-star army officer who serves as his military secretary, to a meeting with Bush in the Oval Office two weeks ago, U.S. and Israeli sources tell me. Galant showered a worried-looking Bush with photographs and charts from a thick dossier on Iran's covert program.

Odd that Israel would put this information out in public, giving the Iranians a chance to limit their losses or possibly set up a defense.

Why should they fight themselves? Sharon wants to bring the US into a war against Iran, one of Israelôs last few implacable enemies. He is perhaps trying to create an "incident" that would give the Neocons some "justification" to push for war -again. After all, US troops are already there. :angry:

Well, been away from OD for a few days, time to catch up.
I suspect Israel will launch another "attack" on the US first, a la 9-11 before the preemptive strike on Iran. At least there's a good chance. Then we'll hear the media and DC wail about Iran being responsible, or the responsible parties hiding in Iran. Given the events of the past week, the most recent "terrorist" attack (once again, good for Izzy, bad for US) might have been derailed for a short time.

Watching the media avoid mention of Abraham is quite a study in media control and propaganda. No doubt the zhid will quietly make bail and disappear, or be "exonerated" through "investigation." "I thought I was selling goild chains ..."
