This is why bodybuilders and gym nuts, who are known for their liberal creatine consumption, are also known for their intellects.

An offensive statement. I've been involved in the iron game since I was 16...and I'm currently studying for the bar exam. Maybe if you hung around with some more thinking men who also happened to be "gym nuts" you'd change your opinion. Maybe if more White Nationalists were just a little more well rounded...and did things like hitting the iron once in a while, they would garner a bit more respect from others.

I don't understand bodybuilding, but nothing wrong with some strength training. We ever going to see you on World's Strongest Man, Walter?

When I was in college, I competed some as a powerlifter (powerlifting is Bench Press, Squat, Deadlift) at a bodyweight of 181 lbs. I sustained some injuries, and my interests changed, so these days I train more like a bodybuilder...I still stick to basics, but I train lighter and do more isolation work.
I never tried my hand at strongman type training...I don't think I have the genes for it. Being skilled at "odd lifts" is something that most people just cannot achieve. I have a load of respect for strongman competitors, though...they are some ultra dedicated people.

My opinion is that it's a waste of time; we can be doing a lot more "productive" things instead. Of course, this is just my personal world view.
I on the other hand spend a lot of time on women, and many would consider that a waste of time. I guess we all have our personal ways of wasting time. Some spend hours a day on sports, others watching tv, and some getting drunk.

How can you in good conscience charactarize an activity that tests the limits of one's endurance, provides mental discipline, and promotes physical strength and health as a "waste of time"? Its not healthy to go through life living only in one's mind.

That is exactly what you have just done, you believe that every MUST find body building as valuable, while I have stated each person enjoys different activities, or each person likes to waste time in their own unique ways. Some spend hours a day playing or watching sports, others dating, and yet others getting drunk. What WOULD be interesting though would be to see how IQ and personality traits correlate to various methods of "wasting time."

You miss the point. Bodybuilding is NOT "wasting time"...its absurd to liken the betterment of oneself through strength training to asinine activities like watching ball games and getting drunk. Making oneself better is NEVER a waste of time. By definition, "wasting time" is engaging in activities that do not yield any benefit.
I'm not judging you on the fact that you devote your free time to Star Trek reruns and masturbation...so don't knock those of us who are pray to the iron gods.

Bodybuilding is NOT "wasting time"...
Again, it depends on the interests of the individual. I like being fit, but I don't want to look like Arnold Swartzneger; I would see spending all that time bulking up to that size as "a waste of time."
Star Trek reruns and masturbation
In your mind, you are thinking, "I see star Trek and women as a waste of time for me." Do note that I am not creating an absolute belief that certain activities are by definition a "waste of time." I am saying that it is subjective; each person defines what is a "waste of time" and what isn't.

Don't worry my friend...there is no chance at all that you could ever look anything like Schwarzenegger. The man is a genetic freak whose work ethic is unrivaled. Saying, "I'd like to be fit, but I don't want to bulk up like Arnold" is akin to saying "I like to play football, but I don't want to become a better quarterback than Brett Favre".

Perhaps you are right, "waste of time" is too subjective a term. Perhaps I should just say that "I have no interest in it." But then, to be consistent, we can't say that Blacks are wasting time by spending all day listening to rap, doing drugs, getting drunk, and riding around in their lowriders; we would simply have to say "I have no interest in that."
I am trying to be more objective. I am improving.

Ares

Walter,
it's true that bodybuilders have a public image of idiots. Are there exceptions? Probably.
