**Sharon is ready to pound Palestinians the way Bush whipped Saddam
By Zev Chafets
http://www.jewishworldreview.com | The Pentagon has dropped its scheme to create a stock market for investors who want to trade in international disasters. Too bad. I was planning to make a bundle on Palestinian futures. Naturally, I intended to sell short. You can't go wrong betting on the Palestinian genius for self-inflicted disaster.
Last week, on a visit to Jerusalem, House Majority Leader Tom DeLay, R-Texas, described the ceasefire between Israel and the Palestinians as "paper-thin." That overestimates the durability of paper. All signs point to an outbreak of fighting by the end of the summer.
The Palestinians lost the last intifadeh, which is why they asked for a ceasefire. And they will lose the next. The difference is, this time it will be Israel's intifadeh. And America won't be there to stop it. In fact, the United States will be rooting Israel on.
The Palestinians were warned about this when Prime Minister Mahmoud Abbas visited the White House last month. Abbas came with complaints: the security fence (Abbas calls it a wall) Israel is building across the West Bank, Prime Minister Ariel Sharon's refusal to open the prison gates and release thousands of inmates and the general difficulties of life under occupation.
President Bush was polite. He agreed that the fence might be a problem, although he didn't sound as if he cared much - an impression confirmed during Sharon's subsequent visit to Washington. On the other hand, Bush was unsympathetic on the subject of releasing terrorists and downright hostile to the Palestinian claim that under the terms of the road map, they are obligated to nothing more than a ceasefire.
In the road map, the Palestinians agreed to make "visible efforts on the ground to arrest, disrupt and restrain individuals and groups conducting and planning violent attacks on Israelis anywhere." In other words, Abbas and his colleagues have promised to take on Hamas, Islamic Jihad, the Al Aqsa Martyrs Brigades and the rest of the armed terrorist groups.
Obviously, the Palestinians knew this when they signed up for the road map. What they didn't know is that Bush would hold them to it. As the late Udai Hussein observed, in a related context, Bush isn't like Bill Clinton. The president is deadly serious about fighting terrorism, including Palestinian terrorism. And so is Sharon (you could say he isn't Ehud Barak).
"For the past three years, we have paid a heavy price for Israel's restraint over the daily violations of the Oslo Accords," he told the graduating class of Israel's National Defense College last week.
But that's all over now. Sharon is demanding nothing less than "a total cessation of violence" and "the fulfillment of every obligation included in the road map." In plain Hebrew, this means that if the Palestinians don't go after the terrorists, he will.
The day after Sharon's speech, Palestinian security chief Mohammed Dahlan responded by saying he would not disarm Hamas and other groups because it would lead to a civil war. He's calling Sharon's bluff. And Bush's.
This will be a painful mistake. Sharon and Bush are operating under the same motto: Bring 'em on.
Sharon has been building toward this moment since he became prime minister. First, by retaking the West Bank in the spring of 2002, he exploded the myth that the Palestinians could win a guerrilla war. Then he isolated and discredited Palestinian leader Yasser Arafat. Finally, he pounded the Palestinians into exhaustion, forcing them to ask for a temporary truce.
None of this could have come to pass without the backing of the Israeli public - or the support of the Bush administration. The price of this support was signing up for the road map. Sharon - who doesn't necessarily want the Palestinian state the plan envisions - was ready to pay. He figured Abbas' check would bounce, and then he'd get a refund from the Americans.
Sharon seems to have been banking on a sure thing. Palestinian terror groups already are engaged in a recruiting drive and an effort to replenish their weapons, including stocks of crude mortars. Arafat is stridently calling Abbas' patriotism and manhood into question. It's just a matter of time before the Palestinians whip themselves into a delusional state of righteous indignation over Israeli crimes, real and imagined. Then the shooting starts - and Israel's intifadeh.
The campaign Sharon has planned will take its tactical cues from U.S. operations in Iraq. Rules of engagement will be the same. Leaders once considered immune - the chief of Hamas, the heads of Islamic Jihad in Damascus and perhaps Arafat himself - will get the Saddam Hussein treatment.
When the fighting stops, Sharon intends for the Fatah-dominated Palestinian Authority to be as dead as the Iraqi Baath Party. Any future Palestinian government will have to conform to the criteria America has set for self-government in Baghdad: constitutional government and a full commitment to peace.
It is, of course, unclear that the United States can pull this off in Iraq. And it is perhaps even less likely that it will work in the West Bank and Gaza. But that doesn't trouble Sharon. Having adopted the American gold standard, he comes out ahead. Pentagon stock market or no, Palestinian futures are a loser**
This gutless creep who ran to Israel to escape the American draft has no concerns other than Israel.

****A low blow at Arnold **
I want to say something about the accusations that California gubernatorial candidate Arnold Schwarzenegger is - how to put it? - too Austrian. But before I do, I need to make something clear about my attitude toward Austria: I don't like it.
All my life I have endeavored to avoid Austrian products (not hard if you're not into beer and cookies). I've never visited the place and don't intend to. My aim isn't to singlehandedly destroy the Austrian tourist industry. It's just that hanging out with Adolf Hitler's countrymen isn't my idea of a relaxing vacation.
I'd probably dislike Austria no matter what kind of country it became after World War II. But the modern version strikes me as an unnecessarily nasty place. Decades after Germany took responsibility for the crimes of the Nazis, Austria still falsely portrays itself as Hitler's victim instead of his enthusiastic supporter.
The country seems to have a passion for louses. In the 1970s, Austrian Chancellor Bruno Kreisky was a prominent supporter of Yasser Arafat and other Arab terrorists. More recently, the neofascist Freedom Party has been a member in good standing of Austria's coalition government. That party's leader is Jorg Haider, an admirer of Hitler and friend of Saddam Hussein's.
Before Haider, there was Kurt Waldheim. The fact that the former UN secretary general was a Nazi war criminal didn't deter the Austrians from electing him president in 1986.
Which brings me back to Arnold. Since announcing his candidacy on the Jay Leno show, he has become the object of a campaign to smear him as a Nazi sympathizer. The paint comes mostly from "Arnold: An Unauthorized Biography," written by Wendy Leigh and published in 1990.
Waldheim is the brush.
According to Leigh, Schwarzenegger is close to Waldheim - so close, in fact, that he invited the ex-Nazi to his Hyannis Port, Mass., wedding to Kennedy cousin Maria Shriver. Waldheim thoughtfully didn't show up, but he did send a gaudy gift. This reportedly prompted Arnold to declare his love (and Maria's) for Herr Waldheim.
This friendship forms the basis of a politically motivated gambit to disqualify Arnold from political office. Slate's Timothy Noah summed up the campaign nicely: "If Schwarzenegger doesn't renounce Waldheim in a highly public way, he can forget about ever becoming governor of California."
Really?
Schwarzenegger was born in 1947. He has lived most of his life in the United States. True, his father was a Nazi police official in the old country, but that isn't Arnold's fault. In fact, it was Arnold who outed the old man by asking the Los Angeles-based Simon Wiesenthal Center to investigate his father's past.
Schwarzenegger himself is a strong supporter of Israel and a generous contributor to Jewish causes. For this he has been declared kosher by no less a hard-liner than the head of the Wiesenthal Center, Rabbi Marvin Heir. Don't get me wrong. I'm not an Arnold fan. I've never liked his movies or his cheesy public persona. I also don't care who becomes the next governor of California. To me, it's like the debate over gay bishops in the Episcopal Church - interesting, but not my problem.
What I do care about is the cynical manipulation of Hitler's legacy for political purposes. Casting Schwarzenegger as a Nazi sympathizer - for the greater good of Gov. Gray Davis or any of the other candidates - is a crime against human memory.
By trivializing evil, California's Holocaust impliers become, wittingly or not, allies and accomplices of the Holocaust deniers.

I go out of my way these days to avoid - whenever possible - local newspapers, local weeklies and all local tv news. Thank G-d for the Internet, as the skullcaps might say, since it allows me to cherry pick this Chafets or that Podhoretz op-ed as exhibits for the prosecution here on OD, without having to tender Coin One to either Murdoch or Zuckerman....nor to stain my fingers with the treasonous ink their respective rags are printed with.
Chafets is beyond belief and in my opinion one of Zionism's point men in this country, in that his printed swill continually tests the outer perimeter of what the marketplace will allow, like a Semitic stress-test. If reader reaction is instant and hostile, they will momentarily withdraw to await the next target of opportunity, the next chance to seize further territory. But of course reader reaction that is hostile is not allowed to see print, and this inhibits the next fellow from angrily sputtering, "Jew, hands off my country!" in a Letter to the Editor.

Those wacky Jews. When they're not seeing "Holocaust deniers" in cloud-formations, they're calling for genocide in code with a taxpayer-funded swagger in their step. I recall a few weeks ago, when - having been chided for seeming to endorse violence as an efficacious method to wrest the steering wheel of Western Civilization back from the Zionist carjackers determined to plunge us over a cliff - I had to point out that "Jews demand - in print! - the violent overthrow of nations, and the premeditated murders of troublesome individuals, all the time." Small scuttling things like Zev Chafets reinforce that belief, day in and day out.
The day that any major newspaper in this country issues a check and a byline to an op-ed writer who leads off a piece with " I need to make something clear about my attitude toward Israel: I don't like it"......will be, sadly, the day I simply forgot to set my snooze alarm.

And is there a Professional Jew in the ranks of journalism who will ever point out that - until we took the viper to our bosom as per Earl Raab's instructions - Germans (and by extension, Austrians) were once the most numerous ethnicity in America and helped build whatever was good and valid and lasting in this country?

Even if they have some kosher stuff, they're a free alternative weekly so you don't have to pay them to read, right?

Edward,
You are certainly correct about good ââ¬Ëol Zev here being a pig, however, letââ¬â¢s not forget about his equally disgusting and cowardly son, Josh.
http://forum.originaldissent.com/index.php...hl=josh+chafetz
Little Josh is heroically defending America from ââ¬Âliberals, democrats, and of course, ââ¬Âislamofascistsââ¬Â
From England, where he is studying under a Rhodes scholarship.
No doubt so that he one day can be a future ââ¬Åleaderââ¬Â for the gentiles in the best tradition of Bill Kristol and Richard Perle.
Last year he started a Zionist agitprop group called ââ¬ÅStudents for Warââ¬Â to propagandize for attacking Iraq. While normally I would consider it poetic justice for this jerk to find himself in a combat unit I really wouldnââ¬â¢t wish to curse some platoon sgt or ldr with someone I know would be nothing but a pain in the rear to them and the rest of the unit. Instead, Iââ¬â¢d rather dump him on the armed forces of his real country, the I.D.F. Then Iââ¬â¢d hope an arab would cut his throat. A swine like his dad.

As our infrastructure continues to crumble and the economy with it - both under the direction & supervision of Jews - I wonder when - or if - our doggedly fearless media will tackle the very real, very damaging topic of Jewish race privilege. You know - like "white skin privilege"? - only explicitly forbidden to speak aloud, thus real.
It's well past time the comfortable life of ease 'n' influence led by Western Jews become uncomfortable. Barring a wave of pogroms, dressing them in sniper-bait fatigues and parking them in Baghdad is a good start.

Zev takes the kosher cake. He's so disgusting it makes my blood boil. Others in the stooped-over boner-nosed category include "Uri Dan," the reporter/'analyst' in the Daily News and John Podhoretz. Emphasis on the 'hor' syllable.
On the other hand, the seediest of the NY rags are loaded with hilarious stories about the multiracial mayhem of Gotham. "Kin sue over rat-devoured corpse." "Mother stuffed child in box for two weeks." "Gangs shoot it out as children play." The Post always includes photos of the bug-eyed negro suspect. For a while, I was clipping them as proof of the Decline of the West, but they came so fast and furious I just stopped.
The New York Press is so filled with insider jokes it bores me.
