Remember the terrorists in the movie "Brazil"? You never saw them, just witnessed random bombings and the government crackdown on supposed suspects, (who were charged for their own torture and execution). Everyone lived in fear of terrorist violence and travel posters showed "freedom from fear" as part of their package away from it all. The politicians were corrupt but every prole had a job doing something or other and cared only for their personal fantasies and petty cares.

"Mistake? We don't make mistakes."
BOOM!
"Those bastards have gone and switched back to the metric system without telling us!"

Best movie of the entire 1980s (give or take a RAGING BULL). See it again and be stunned by Gilliam's brilliant vision.

And Marty still doesn't have an Oscar ...
Yes, Brazil is a brilliant film, far ahead of its time.
