Has anyone here ever read Dreamer of the Day: Francis Parker Yockey and the Postwar Fascist International? I just got it in the mail today. :)

Its a very good work...although Coogan speculates a bit about Yockey's subjective motives, personal life, etc.
All in all, the Coogan's treatment of the subject matter is pretty objective...but this book leaves many unanswered questions about who Francis Yockey really was.
The real strength of the work, IMO, is not the biographical sketch of Yockey, but Coogan's analysis of Yockey's brand of Pan European National Socialism.
Whether you love or hate this book, it is a page turner.

It is much longer than I expected it would be, something over 600 pages. I am about 60 pages into it at the moment. I was unaware for example that Yockey had been in a terrible car accident with Negroes and was afterwards beaten by them. It would seem as if there has been a marked revival as of late in interest in Yockey. More and more people I come across are familiar with his writings. This is a good thing since real Conservatism is finally whithering away. Yockey's writings are quite a breath of fresh air.

Hi Fade.
I haven't read Dreamer of the Day, but I have read Imperium, and that's one of tbe best books advocating European nationalism I've read - though I must say I don't particularly like the anti-East Europeanism (i.e. Russians as "barbarians") and the idea of biological race as an expression of the soul is... absurd. But otherwise it's great :th: I might mention the only reason I ever took an interest in Yockey is Fade's postings of selections of Yockey's writings at the Phora a while ago (yes, I read them :)).

I have read (or tried to read) Imperium. It is interesting, but I have to say for a book claiming descendence from Spengler's Decline of the West he certainly doesn't have Spengler or the other German writers gift for literary style. The prose seems very turgid at times, but I suppose every man has his own gifts, and Yockey was certainly a brave and dedicated man.

I still have to read Imperium, come to think of it, now you reminded me of it. I have to find the ebook on my PC, I hope it is still there. From the little I have read of it, it is a very interesting read.

I especially liked Yockey's criticism of constitutional government. Power will find itself a way around a piece of paper.
