 The New York Times reported that 5,000 American Jews were employed at the World Trade Center 11 September 2001, out of whom not one individual perished. Also according to the Times out of 40,000 persons employed at the World Trade Center that day 14,000 were actually at work by 8:46 A.M. out of whom 2,800 died in the disaster. Subtract the dead firemen and plane occupants and we arrive at , to be generous, 2,000 WTC residents. Now given that 2,000 is approximately 14% of 14,000 then the expected American Jewish losses would be 0.14 x 1,400 = 196. In fact every national and ethnic group reprsented at the World Trade Center suffered losses except the American Jews. I don't mean to sound unreasonable and suggest that more of the American Jews were management personnel that do not arrive at work until after 9:00 A.M. Still, zero casualties, not even a couple of dozen? What are the odds that an ethnic group with a ten percent representation (1,400 is 10% of 14,000) at the World Trade Center on 11 September 2001 would suffer the loss of not even one person?

I think you have some facts wrong. There were some American Jewish casualties but zero Israelis (of whom a number worked at the WTC).

Thanks for your response to my post, il ragno. To continue, I was interested to read your post about there having been American Jewish casualties at the World Trade Center. That is more in line with what we would expect to have happened. My source was the New York Times. What is yours?

My figures do need rechecking. 14,000 is 35% of 40,000 so the expected American Jewish number of residents at 8:45 A.M. was 0.35 X 5,000 = 1750. As 2,000 dead is approximately 14% of the 14,000 persons actually residing in the Towers at the first impact then 0.14 X 1750 = 245 expected lost American Jews, not 196 as I stated in my original post.
