107th CONGRESS 1st Session H. J. RES. 47
Proposing an amendment to the Constitution of the United States to make eligible for the Office of President a person who has been a United States citizen for twenty years.
IN THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES
May 2, 2001
Mr. Frank (for himself and Mr. Hoekstra) introduced the following joint resolution; which was referred to the Committee on the Judiciary
JOINT RESOLUTION
Proposing an amendment to the Constitution of the United States to make eligible for the Office of President a person who has been a United States citizen for twenty years.
Resolved by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United
States of America in Congress assembled (two-thirds of each House concurring therein), That the following article is proposed as an amendment to the Constitution of the United States, which shall be valid to all intents and purposes as part of the Constitution when ratified by the legislatures of three-fourths of the several States within seven years after the date of its submission for ratification:
``Article--
``A person who is a citizen of the United States, who has been for
twenty years a citizen of the United States, and who is otherwise
eligible to the Office of President, is not ineligible to that Office
by reason of not being a natural born citizen of the United States.''.

But, of course, a natural-born American citizen has to wait 37 years.
I doubt any Israeli would get elected here any time soon--or would try to. More likely it's to set up the future presidency of an illegal mexican immigrant. Nothing says 'American' quite like a President Gutierrez, former mexican national, ordering "his people" the Americans to further open up their gates to his real folk.

Drakmal,
Exactly. Many of those people and perhaps Pete Hoekstra himself and other foreign-born future civil servants. Below is from his website. He's from Holland.
**Pete lives in Holland, Michigan, with his wife, Diane, and their three children, Erin, Allison and Bryan. He was born on Oct. 30, 1953, in Groningen, the Netherlands, and immigrated to Michigan with his family at the age of 3, making him one of the few members of Congress who were not born in the United States. **

Why don't they just get it over with and pass the one that says "The Constitution and all of its Amendments are hereby null and void."
Hail diversity!
