You didn't think we'd forget about you Herr Johann Leprich, did you???

U.S. arrests former Nazi camp guard

WASHINGTON (Reuters) -- U.S. officials have arrested a 77-year-old, Romanian-born man who served as a guard at a Nazi camp during World War Two and were seeking to deport him, federal officials said Wednesday.

Johann Leprich was arrested late Tuesday night at his home in Clinton Township, Michigan after agents found him hiding in a secret compartment beneath the stairs.

Leprich, who became a naturalized U.S. citizen in 1958, had his citizenship revoked in 1987 after a federal judge found that Leprich had served as an armed SS Deaths Head guard at Mauthausen Concentration Camp in Nazi-occupied Austria from 1943 to at least April 1944.

After Leprich's citizenship was revoked, his attorney told federal authorities he had left the United States. A decade later Leprich was reported to be seen in Canada and federal agents launched a search based on indications that Leprich was either living in or visiting Michigan.

"We intend to remove Leprich from the U.S. with all deliberate speed," said Eli Rosenbaum, director of the Justice Department's Office of Special Investigation. color=blue

According to a filing with the U.S. Immigration Court in Detroit, the government said Leprich should be deported based on his service as an armed SS guard at Mauthausen.

The Justice Department said that 71 Nazis have been stripped of their U.S. citizenship and 57 have been deported since the Office of Special Investigation began operations in 1979. color=blue

The U.S. intelligence agencies can find one, obscure former Nazi prison guard, but could NOT stop the 9/11 attacks?

Pull the other one.

Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh - How non-biased to put a JEW in the charge of the "special investigation!"

"We intend to remove Juden from Europe with all deliberate speed."

This guy is harmless. I don't see the point in arresting him, I don't know if they mentioned his age, but it has to be around 80 years old. How much longer does he have to live naturally?

I loved the remark about the FBI being able to find an 80 year old fugitive but can't stop terrorist attacks.

They can catch old, white men in walkers. Lucky for the terrorists, they waste their time and energy in an 80 yearold.

I could see that as a new Hollywood thriller "Grandpa Killer".
Beware the next time you help an old man cross the street, it could be your last mistake. Than some Black or female FBI detective can be the hero of the movie, thinking of all sorts of clever plans to catch him. Then somewhere in the middle of the film, we see the old man put on his old SS uniform and give Heil :hit: s and all that (be just like that one scene in "Apt Pupil"). His house be filled with all sorts of Nazi era memorbilia(including all his medals), swastikas everywhere, including a 50 square inch picture frame of the Fuhrer.

The FBI agent catches him(after more than 20 people are killed, no better massacred, by the murderous senile old man) "all in a day's work" "glad to see we got this scum off the street" "but who knows how many others are out there" the typical cliche lines. Then at the end have all sorts of pro-tolerance messages and how hate hurts society.

I think it could sell millions in its first week at the Box office. Trailers for the film can all say based on a true story .

   :P
