Yo buss dis. git ready to dig deepuh into yo pockets to registuh yo car.
De state department uh finance triggard an automatic triplin uh de vehicle licensin fee -- de annual hoopty regiskration dat we all pay evary year. See what I'm sayin? De news hit Bay Area drivers likes a semi.
"I think it's absolutely disgustin," said Gary Payton uh Oakland. "folk be goin to think twice befo dey buy a new vehicle aftuh hearin dis."
De state says de average drivuh now pays 'bout$76 fuh vehicle regiskration. Dat will jump to $234 effective 90 days from now. But de fact dat state finance director Steve Peace triggard dis pumps up witout a vote in de legislatua has Republicans furious.
"Increasin dis tax may be convenient, pullin dis trigguh may be an easy way to pumps up de tax witout a vote... but it's not legal," said Assemblyman John Campbell, R-Irvine. -- So Republicans will challenge de tax hike in court, but dat won't stop it from kickin in durin de legal challenge. De tax be expected to brin in 'bout$4 billion to de state, an' dat's why local leaders be supportin de pumps up.
"Well, we need de duckets, an' dat's one place to git it," said Oaklan' Mayor Jerry Brown. "Three years ago -- maybe it's a li'l longuh than dat -- de guvernor an' de legislature, when dey reduced de vehicle tax, said dat if de state came on hard times den automatically de tax would be restored... We noed we need mo duckets fuh police, fuh mental health services, so we need dat duckets."
De tax wuz cut unduh previous adminiskrations when times wuz good. Now dis be one mo indication uh how tough de state's finances is.

Where did you pick up those Ebonics skills? Sorry, it still sounds pretty white (I was able to understand it)?

The problem here is that they don't know how to translate the polysyllabic words you feed them, because there is no precedent of ebonics speakers using such. B)

Do you have a better way to solve the financial crisis? It's a time of economic downturn. The whold US face the same problem. President Bush can cut medi-care and veteran's warefare. And borrow money by issuing bonds. Governor Davis can't. Republican take the chance to attack Gray Davis.
It's a preparation for Bush's election of 2004.
California is a state with big votes. When they activate resource to recall Governor, they aimed at President election of 2004.
What's wrong with Gray Davis? Had he had a personal affair with a woman? Or Did he start an unnecessary war with Iraq? Nothing. It's only the slow economy. But the whole US are facing an economy downturn. Why do they pick up California?
They want a Republican Governor in 2004. That they can do some dirty tricks in voting without being investigated. Just like what happened in Florida election on 2000.
