I wonder what Putin will do (if anything) to protect his fellow citizens. I predict little to nothing will be done about this by the 'Western' powers. Their Slavophobia allows them to turn a blind eye to all but the most extreme suffering of Slavs.

This is a repeat of what already happened in other muslim republics of the former USSR. I was born in a town of about 35,000 people that was overwhelmingly populated by "non-natives" (there was an important plant nearby, let's say). By now, I'd be suprised if more than 1% of those remain. People had to "sell" their apartments for the price of an airfare, arrange shipping of their belongings by rail if they had any money left over, and flee. I heard storied of people not being able to sell their apartments, and stripping them so that the squatters had less comfort.
As for hiring and promotion, the discrimination started during Brezhnev: only native cadre were promoted to be managers, even though they were incompetent. All technical work was done by competent "whites", and "browns" got all the credit and promotions.

Just saw a documentary about racial hatred in St. Petersburg. I didn't know that Russian cities are full of Caucasus immigrants. The West is whining about the skinhead violence in Russia. But never did I see a documentary about the ethnic intimidation Russians faced in the breakaway republics. Journalist Peter Scholl Latour was the only one who mentioned the Slavic retreat from Asia. f*ck the West. Russia must go its own way, quickly.

This problem of the darkies invading Russian cities to prey on individualistic Russians and others ethnicities is much older than the program may have presented. I heard about this from my father. Because those people behave as a pack, individuals stand little chance of successful opposition, even if they are a majority. Racial hatred my ass. I think Russians should deal with the darkies by vigilante action, and for that they need an easier access to guns. I don't think the police would care much if the pest population is somewhat reduced.
There is a Russian nationalist director, Balabanov, who touched on this "problem" in a movie "Brat". The main character offs a extortionist Chechen and then puts some smirking darkie in line. The guy also says that he doesn't like Jews but has no problems with the Germans. If you have a chance, watch "Brat" and "Brat 2". Very un-PC, very nationalist, a lot of action.

At times I feel ambivalent about the Russians: they have a history of not being so benevolent to their fellow Slavs. The late policies of 'Russification' amongst even their fellow Slavic subjects were and are, in particular not endearing. It is this history which makes for suspicion in even their closest cultural cousins and I believe this history of 'Russification' (and 'Serbification' in regard to the Srbs) is the main obstacle to any pan-Slavic movement generally.
However, they are one of the largest European ethnicities (and certainly the largest Slav nation). The Russians carved out an Empire from the Asiatic and Turkic peoples, and settled a large number of ethnic Russians outside of what many people today recognize as Russia (which was carved up and divided by the Soviet to oppress the Russians).
I believe what's occured - and what's currently happening - is completely unacceptable. The Russians are being quietly and thoroughly 'ethnically cleansed,' and nothing whatsoever is being done about it. Their only crime is being Slavs, and it is far too popular to cheer on the denigration of Slavic nations, especially in the Slavophobic West.
At times, I wonder what Russia could accomplish if only they were blessed with a leader courageous enough to stand up for Russia. Especially if such a leader were one that stood for fair Slavic unity. Putin falls sadly a bit short of the fervor necessary to reunite and rebuild Russia and lacks the qualities that would render him acceptable to other Slavs as a potential figure of leadership.

There is nothing unique in Russians being not benevolent to other Slavs. The shoes sometimes was on the other foot. Ukraine was under the Polish influence for quite a while, and there was even a period of unrest in Russia when a Pole claimed the throne. Russians were just bigger, and if someone else had been in their situation, who knows how much benevolence they would have shown. Just look at former Yugoslavia, then skew the participants' relative size severalfold. In fact, Russians were quite benevolent :D

Don't take me the wrong way: all Slavs have the unfortunate history of being not-so-benevolent to each other. The larger Slav nations tend to make the smaller Slav nations a wee bit nervous. LOL
Non-Russian Slavs are only leary of Russia because of Russia's numerical and military superiority, and of course, the recent history of communism. However, anyone with a brain can readily see that the Russians themselves were even more viciously oppressed (and outright slaughtered) during the times of communism by the Jews, and really, it's unfair to blame the Russians for Soviet actions which were machinated by Jews.
As a Hrvat of a decidedly smaller nation (4 million compared to 140+ million) I may feel nervous about any prospect of Russian power/influence in Hrvatska, but overall I regard the Russians as an inspiring Slavic people for whom I have great respect. I very highly regard both Russia and Poland for their rich history and heritage.

Liked thw movie, but think it would have been better if the director had used a pure Russian instead of a 1/4th Manchurian for the lead part.

I never understood the popularity of Bodrov either.
