I was reading chapter 6 of the second volume and started thinking about some of his writing. I believe he has much to offer us. We are not the first to suffer certain problems.
All civilizations enter a stage that often lasts for centuries of appalling depopulation. During this period cultural man disappears. First the world cities, the provincial forms and finally the land itself, whose best blood has incontinently poured into the towns, merely to bolster them for a while. At last only the primitive blood remains alive, but depleted of the strongest and most promising types. This residure is the fellah type.
In world cities a minority of timeless, altruistic, literary men, not of destiny, but of reasons and causes exist. These men are detached from the blood pulse and find no "reasonable" idea for the nation idea to persist any longer.
This minority chooses the intellectual mode as world cities are purely idea driven, ruthless and the common property of mankind. These world citizens, world pacifists, world reconcilers are the spiritual leaders of the fellaheen.
All world improvers and world citizens stand for fellaheen ideals, whether they know it or not. Their success means the historical abdication of the nation, in favor, not of everlasting peace, but of the triumph of another nation.

Does the following make some people think of the Los Angeles and New York self-described intelligentsia?> These world citizens, world pacifists, world reconcilers are the spiritual leaders of the [color=red]fellaheen[/color].

I understand that the real question is how to reverse this situation, but I question if this has been done in the past? Israel must be the nation these rootless cosmopolitans favor.

Yes, the triumph of the Proletarian "nation" - the now-masked Communist (i.e., Marxist sugar-coated Anarchist) regimes of Asia, yet to re-emerge from a bare concealment facilitated by Western self-congratulatory and self-delusional fatuity regarding its own alleged "victory" over the "Communist system" - which never was such.
