** Mexifornia: Virtually All California's Population Explosion Due to Immigration Native-Born Californians Leaving State - U.S. Newswire -- Virtually 100 percent of California's population explosion between 1990 and 2000 (and continuing through 2002) was the result of a massive inflow of immigrants and births to immigrants, not from internal growth. Demographers project that if the same rate of growth continues, California's population will double in just 40 years. Native-born residents (those residing in the state prior to 1990) decreased by about 100,000 and this was not compensated for by other Americans moving to California.
