It is not news that the West now embraces the Communist idea of equality -- the idea that every human is, or can be made to be, "equal." No, the shocking part of that embracing is how accepted it is -- Joe Citizen says not a word while City Official Stan endangers the public with a Jewish creation [1].
A few years ago the Tucson Fire Department caused an uproar by ending a requirement that fire department recruits chop a hole in a roof section with an ax in "x" amount of time. Failing in that task meant that the recruit failed to graduate from the fire academy. That requirement was ended by TFD because most female recruits could not complete the chopping task within the required time limit, if at all. In other words, public safety came last and PC-ness came first.
And now, it appears that England has gone the way of America. Here is a news quote:

What?? You mean there is not one woman who could complete that section, if told to do so?? If anything, discarding that section means that women are unfit and unqualified to engage in such a course. These equalitymongers are a piece of work.

This reminds me of the stink raised in L.A., when it turned out that someone at the Fire Academy had taken covert video of female 'recruits' trying to do some of the physical tasks required to pass the course. The men had no problem with being in heavy gear, lifting ladders, running them across a certain area, propping them up, while carrying heavy hoses. The recruits also had to climb walls, etc. The women were staggering, two and three at a time had problems handling the ladders together, they could barely control the hoses, couldn't do the climbing. It was funny but not funny. What made it worse was that some evil white males that had been kept out of the academy in the interests of diversity, used the tape along with copies of test scores from black and latino recruits - who scored horribly - in their atttempt to sue the Fire Dept. and get into the academy. The news media ran the tapes, and tried to make it seem cruel that men would make fun of the plight of the ladies, but most men and women who saw the footage would end up laughing. The media stopped running it. We're all the same, right?
