Some facts on Jews serving in US wars

Civil war

Recounted in the Encyclopedia Judaica, proudly published in Jerusalem, were the deaths of 500 Jews out of 150,000 Jews living in America during the Civil War. 1 This contribution was pridefully remembered in 1992 in the Jewish Veteran, the newspaper of the Jewish War Veterans.2 This benefaction computed to one Jew out of three hundred Jews dying in the war, or a little over three per thousand.

From a population of a about 32 million in the United States in 1860 a total approaching 625,000 Americans died, or almost 20 per thousand. Other Americans died six times more frequently than Jews.

In 1996 the Jewish War Veterans boasted they were the oldest veteran group in the United States. They had been formed in 1896 to refute the allegation that Jews ducked service in the Civil War.

WW1

The Jewish War Records Board gave the number of Jews dying at 3500. Americans not black or Jewish died at a rate some 40% higher than Jews. Some may state that ethnic Russians comprised a significant part of those born in Russia and should lower the share for Jews. But ethnic Russians simply did not come to the United States in significant numbers. The salient fact that Jews had been awarded six Medals of Honor out of 120 awarded was noted by Jewish War Records Board. These medals were more than would have been expected by pure chance.

WW 2

With rising affluence Jews in spite of the personal insult and threat of Nazi anti-Semitism did not fight as much as their fellow countrymen in World War II. In two volumes the Jewish National Welfare Board celebrated their participation in World War II under the auspicious title American Jews in World War II.5 As of July 1, 1946 the board had identified 8000 Jews as having died in combat. 408306 Americans died in WW11

Jews would receive one (later revised to two) Medals of Honor out of over 430 awarded.6 If they had fought in the same proportion as their countrymen, they would have received about 18 medals.

Years later the Anti-Defamation League would shriek about discrimination toward one Jew by the American army even when the man had transparently lied about his exploits.

Vietnam

There were 58,000 dead and a maximum of 269 dead jews. .Vietnam War dead used data in the Southeast Asia Combat Area Casualties File in the National Archives and concluded after a computer count that 269 Jews died in that conflict 8 Later this information was discreetly published on the internet and not publicized.9 Other Americans died at a rate more than six times as much as Jews.

Beirut

Almost as an anecdote the Beirut bombing in 1983 revealed that not one of the 220 Marines killed was a Jew.12 Maury Maverick, who uncovered that statistic, had found while representing conscientious objectors during the war in Vietnam that the underprivileged had suffered way out of proportion to their numbers.

Desert Storm

For the war against Iraq the Jewish Welfare Board estimated out of about 520,000 American troops in the Gulf only 500 were Jews. 13 If Jews had been there in proportion to their numbers, almost 13,000, some 25 times the number present, would have been in uniform.

Mr. Maverick found that not one of the 386 Americans who died was a Jew.14 Later in the pages of the New York Times there was an attempt to revise the total of Jews present in the war zone upward as had been done in previous wars to bolster the image of Jews.15

British Jews in WW 2

Participation by Jews in that war was lower than their countrymen who died at two to three times the Jewish rate. 17 The determined reader will confirm these observations for himself. Lack of full participation in wars by Jews has not been confined to the United States.

In both World War I Germany and World War II America non-Jews died a rate more than 50 percent greater than their fellow Jewish citizenry.

Jews compiled the data

Excepting the data on the Vietnam War, the dead of the Gulf War and the Beirut bombing, all data were taken from sources compiled by Jews and meant to be friendly to them.

For World Wars I and II Jews were permitted to see official American records to determine who was a Jew and who was not. If done by non-Jews, this appraisal would be considered a racist act.

American Jews have shirked military duty with its obligations and hazards and have insolently lied about it. They have subordinated American interests to those of Israel.

This info has been has been posted here before. If jews compiled the data, there is a good chance the numbers of jews listed as serving in the various wars has probably been inflated from even smaller levels than we see. Of course, people could just make excuses like Birdbrain Bryant does on his website, saying that maybe jewish casualities are low because they are smart. No, their casualties are low because they aren't on the battlefield. Woe to the jew who has no pull, no connections. He may actually have to pull KP, or carry a pack. And that jew is a rare one, as the numbers show.

I was very flattered to see this young man quote my work although I suspect he may have been unaware of my presence here. Roger was right. He had seen much of this before. He may even remember me enumerating the lies and cavils of the most evil of all our member, the loathesome Polichinello, who lied and apologized for his kinsmen.

Wexler has introduced legislation requiring the Pentagon to review the wartime records of Jewish American veterans who were previously denied consideration for the Congressional Medal of Honor.

The Wexler legislation directs the Secretaries of the Army, Navy, and Air Force to review the records of Jewish war veterans who were awarded the Distinguished Service Cross, the Navy Cross, or Air Force Cross to determine whether their acts of bravery should have been recognized with the Congressional Medal of Honor for their bravery.

The Leonard Kravitz Jewish War Veterans Act of 2001 is modeled after legislation that became law in February, 1996, which required an identical review for Asian American war veterans. Following this review, 21 deserving Asian American veterans were granted the Congressional Medal of Honor. The legislation's namesake is Private First Class Leonard Kravitz, who was killed in action during the Korean War. Private Kravitz sacrificed his life by heroically remaining behind to man a machine gun turret to protect his division as they were forced into a retreat.

The reasoning behind this bill

The rationale for the bill are those peculiar numbers. According to the U.S. Army Center of Military History's Web site, more than 3,427 Congressional Medals of Honor have been awarded since the decoration's inception in 1861.

Al Lerner of Silver Spring, Maryland, who is commander of JWV Harold Greenberg Post #692, puts that number at 44. Pamela Feltus, curator National Museum of American Jewish Military History, says there are only 13 "confirmed Jews" --- people who identified themselves as Jewish.

The Jewish War Veterans organization would be authorized to submit additional names for consideration.

Audie Murphy - Medal of Honor winner

**2d Lt. Murphy** commanded Company B, which was attacked by 6 tanks and waves of infantry. 2d Lt. Murphy ordered his men to withdraw to prepared positions in a woods, while he remained forward at his command post and continued to give fire directions to the artillery by telephone. Behind him, to his right, 1 of our tank destroyers received a direct hit and began to burn. Its crew withdrew to the woods. 2d Lt. Murphy continued to direct artillery fire which killed large numbers of the advancing enemy infantry.

**With the enemy tanks abreast of his position,** 2d Lt. Murphy climbed on the burning tank destroyer, which was in danger of blowing up at any moment, and employed its .50 caliber machine gun against the enemy.** He was alone and exposed to German fire from 3 sides,** but his deadly fire killed dozens of Germans and caused their infantry attack to waver. The enemy tanks, losing infantry support, began to fall back. For an hour the Germans tried every available weapon to eliminate 2d Lt. Murphy, but he continued to hold his position and wiped out a squad which was trying to creep up unnoticed on his right flank. Germans reached as close as 10 yards, only to be mowed down by his fire. He received a leg wound, but ignored it and continued the single-handed fight until his ammunition was exhausted. He then made his way to his company, refused medical attention, and organized the company in a counterattack which forced the Germans to withdraw. His directing of artillery fire wiped out many of the enemy; he killed or wounded about 50. 2d Lt. Murphy's indomitable courage and his refusal to give an inch of ground saved his company from possible encirclement and destruction, and enabled it to hold the woods which had been the enemy's objective.

By the war's end, Murphy had become the[color=red] **nation's most-decorated soldier**[/color], earning an unparalleled 28 medals, including three from France and one from Belgium. Murphy had been wounded three times during the war, yet, in May 1945, when victory was declared in Europe, he had still not reached his 21st birthday.

Rubitsky did not get his award because a superior officer believed a Jew should not get it.  The most compelling evidence supporting Mr. Rubitsky was a handwritten message on the back of a photograph removed just after the battle from the body of a Japanese officer.  The officer, Colonel Yamamoto, had committed suicide to atone for the loss of 600 fine Japanese soldiers killed by a lone American soldier.  In an interview with National Public Radio Mr. Rubitsky graphically recounted the fighting which went on all night.  Mr. Rubitsky admitted to being insane from shooting and bayoneting them.  The Anti-Defamation League assisted Mr. Rubitsky in his claim as they insisted Jews had been underrepresented in the awarding of Medals of Honor for bravery.  Mr. Rubitsky claimed his home had been defaced by attacks and the scrawling of the swastika on his door.  Sympathetic reporters took up his case in the pages of the Los Angeles *Times*  and *Time*  magazine.  Mr. Rubitsky swore he was far more interested in justice than medals. Some two months later the matter seemed to have died a natural death.  If Mr. Rubitsky's claim had been true, his prowess and courage would have taken him above and beyond the Audie Murphy and Sergeant York level to the George Washington and John Wayne level.  His total of 600 enemy soldiers dead was several multiples of enemies killed by any previous Medal of Honor winners.  Yet the outlandish claims on behalf of Mr. Rubitsky did not deter 70 members of Congress from supporting the claim.  ([color=red]Do not denigrate this number.  This is 70 more than ever demanded the USS Liberty butchery be investigaged[/color]) The army found the story put forth by Mr. Rubitsky was a myth.  The commanding officer who allegedly said "Jews don't get the Medal of Honor" had been relieved of his command the day after the mythical battle and had nothing to do with either forwarding or forgetting the original affidavits.  The key witness for the claim of Mr. Rubitsky, the officer reputed to have seen the bodies of the slain Japanese, was placed back at battalion headquarters writing reports.  As regards the photograph, both Japanese and American experts declared it a forgery. The real preposterous nature of the claim was that Representative Nita Lowey had sent a "Dear Colleague" letter to House members asking them to support Mr. Rubitsky's claim for a Medal of Honor.  That the action took place some 47 years earlier did not cause the 70 members who signed to express any circumspection.  The Anti-Defamation League had been pressing the army to review the case. Once the issue of anti-Semitism had been raised, the emotional and political aspect of the proposed award overwhelmed any sense of caution by politicians.  [color=blue]A columnist for the *Christian Science Monitor *asked the staff of Representative Lowey and two other Congressional members for a copy of the correspondence regarding Mr. Rubitsky.  All claimed to have lost it.  One office claimed to have lost the entire file concerning Mr. Rubitsky.    This has been a common response when ludicrous claims on behalf of Jews are challenged.  Nobody would say anything.  All forget.[/color]** One of the most interesting facts in the *Christian Science Monitor *article was the claim that six Jews were awarded the Medal of Honor for heroism in World War I. Various totals for the number of Medals of Honor range from 96 to 120 for the entire American expeditionary force. Regardless of the number, the conclusion was obvious that Jews did perform valorously. In World War II only 1 or 2 Jews were awarded the Medal of Honor. There is some discrepancy. Perhaps one was uncircumsized. Not one Jew was awarded the Medal of Honor in Vietnam. A legitimate question to be asked has been where did many, if not most, of the Vietnam War dead come from. A tentative answer can be gleaned from looking at the dead of Logan County, West Virginia. With a population of 45,000 the county had 48 young men die in Vietnam. [color=blue]The death rate of Logan County was roughly four times the national average for that war and about 25 times that of Jews. Two of the dead, Ted Belcher and Frankie Molnar, received the Medal of Honor posthumously for their bravery.[/color] To put the sacrifice and courage of these men in perspective, during World War II American Jewry with a population of almost five million were awarded two Medals of Honor for their courage. Yet these men from a depressed coal mining area in West Virginia were typical of the men who received no sympathy or recognition from a national media more concerned with childish exhibitions of rectitude and sleaziness. I wrote much of the below to the Washington *Post*. It was to be printed in *The Army Times*, but the editor got cold feet after approving the article.> **I write perplexed and angered from the perspective of the lower and middle classes that have long felt national politics has passed them by.  Awarding the Medals of Honor to 20 Japanese-Americans for gallantry in World War II some 50 years afterwards must strike the tastemakers of America as appropriate.  Yet reviewing some hard facts lead to differing conclusions.  In 1940 the population of America was 131 million to include 13 million African-Americans, some 5 million Jewish-Americans and about 113 million others, largely white.  In that war some 292,000 Americans died under battlefield conditions and 116,000 under conditions other than combat. *Dial Press* in 1947 published *American Jews in World War II:  The Story of 550,000 Fighters for Freedom*.  This book used information and numbers compiled by the Jewish National Welfare Board that assigned rabbis to the military. (Kaufman, *American Jews in World War II: The Story of 550,000 Fighters for Freedom* (2 volumes), p349 (Vol I), *Dial Press*, 1947)  Its caveat that the record was not complete as it used data available as of July 1, 1946 should be weighed against the fact the war ended almost one year earlier and the Board had access to military records.  This book claimed that the 11 percent of Jews who served were 3.5 percent of the total armed forces of the United States and was followed by the assertion: "This approximates their ratio in the total population".  Then the claim was made that 10,500 Jews died in military service with 8000 in combat.  These figures were the ones accepted by the *Encyclopedia Judaica* edition printed in 1972 for participation by American Jews in World War II.  .  (*Encyclopedia Judaica*, Vol 15, p1634 (*Kefer Press*, 1972)) Jews of America died at the rate of 2.1 per 1000 Jews with 1.6 dying in combat.) If blacks had contributed to battle deaths in World War II in the same proportion as the rest of the populace some 29,000 would have died.  This number would be more than forty times greater than the number that did die using the *Ebony Handbook *figures of 700 dead blacks. (*Ebony Handbook*, p202  (Johnson Publishing, 1974)) The official record, *Army Battle Casualties and Nonbattle Deaths in World War II*, which was published in 1953, counted 624 deaths among battle casualties for the 92d Division.  For the 93d Division the total came to 17 deaths. (*Army Battle Casualties and Nonbattle Deaths in World War II: Final Report - 7 December 1941 - 31 December 1946*,  pp88-90, (Statistical and Accounting Branch Office of the Adjutant General, published 1 June 1953)  These were the only two black divisions that faced an enemy.  Tales of Tuskegee airmen in aerial dogfights and the battering down of concentration camp gates by liberating black troops exist in the fertile minds of those who work in determining the permissible in American culture, even if it is not true or highly exaggerated.  An estimate of some 5000 dying under non-combat conditions seems reasonable as African-Americans were not being trained for combat on a scale commensurate with whites.  What bothers has been not that this number is not discussed, but that the American media code of conduct has forbidden its open knowledge.  Harsh truths must be avoided in what the media have sensed as their duty to shape and guide society by presentation of what they perceive as socially acceptable facts. American ineptitude was not limited to the Afro-American Divisions.  The performance of the 92d Division in battle was likened to the all-white 106th Division that bore the initial onslaught during the Battle of the Bulge and also "melted away.  As poorly as the black divisions fought, their incompetence did not match that of the all-white 9th Infantry division at Kasserine Pass.  The 9th Division and the 106th Division both got another chance.  The black divisions did not.  African-Americans died at a rate less than 0.5 per 1000 blacks. This leaves the remaining 113 million including include the Nisei.  These Americans died at the rate of 3.4 per 1000 of population.  To compare this number with other nations who fought in both World Wars of this century is to appreciate how little America suffered in comparison. For bravery during World War II some 430 Medals of Honor were awarded.  There is some discrepancy on the number.  Roughly for every 700 combat deaths one Medal of Honor was awarded.  If that proportion held true with blacks, one black would have received the Medal of Honor.  However, a beaming Bill Clinton belatedly bestowed a total of 7 to his most faithful constituency. One must now acknowledge that if blacks did not die in proportion to their numbers, those that did die were proportionately 7 times braver than whites.  Blacks now claimed one Medal of Honor for every 100-battle deaths.  Mr. Clinton knows what people, particularly his most fervent supporters, wish to hear.  Honesty and truth matter very little to him.  It seems the entire nation now takes his approach to truth and relevance.  Blacks did not die in proportion to their numbers of draft-age young men in Vietnam.  An American press far more interested in sensationalism than unpleasant facts fomented fragging of officers, mostly by blacks against whites. For Jews during World War II one Medal of Honor was awarded. (*Congressional Record*, Vol 96, pp13735-6, Aug 29, 1950) To put this in perspective Senator Warren Barbour of New Jersey on November 25, 1940 noted the pride of Jews of their record during World War I and inserted in the *Congressional Record *an article that had appeared in the *Jewish Times *dated 10 days earlier. (*Congressional Record*, Vol 86, pp6696-7, Nov 25, 1940)  This article named six Jews who were awarded the Medal of Honor for heroism in World War I.  The number of Medals of Honor for the entire American expeditionary force was 120.  Jews did perform valorously in that war. A cursory inspection of the numbers for Japanese-Americans raises suspicions.  They claim to be the most decorated unit in American history.  Over 600 dead and some 9500 wounded in World War II are numbers generally given as casualties.  One web site lists those killed by name, rank and place and date of death. (www.ajawarvets.com ) The total was 530 dead.  Another web site lists about 750 names of Japanese-Americans who died. (www.webcom.com/akato/442kia )  Yet the Japanese-American population in 1940 in the continental United States was estimated at 126,947 (16th Census of the United States: 1940, Vol II, part 1, p21, table 6)  and on Hawaii at 157,905  (Census of the Population: 1950, Vol II Characteristics, Parts 51-54, table 8, 52-13).  The population was skewed with males being almost 155,000 of the total.  The death rate of 3.4 per 1000 in the general population should read about 6.8 per 1000 males as very, very few females died in that war.  If Japanese-Americans had died at the rate of their white, non-Jewish neighbors over 1050 would have died. Like Jews, their fellow countrymen died at a rate more than 50% greater than they. What impressed as most striking of all is the claim that for every dead casualty some 15 were wounded.  The official record for Army battle casualties in World War II gave some 142,962 infantry dead under battle conditions and other battle casualties at 518,097 wounded. (*Army Battle Casualties and Nonbattle Deaths in World War II:  Final Report 7 December 1941 – 31 December 1946*, p5, (Office of Adjutant General, June 1953) Considering Japanese-Americans fought almost exclusively as infantry, this method of comparison seems appropriate.  These supermen were able to sustain wounds and not die at a rate some 4 times their fellow mortals who had less than 4 wounded for every killed.  Could anyone outside the media and entertainment circus believe that claptrap?  Needless to add they will be recognized as far more valorous than their contemporaries were. With 22 Medals of Honor awarded for their sacrifice by a beaming Bill Clinton Japanese-Americans are now recognized as the bravest of the American brave.  For every 30 of their deaths in combat (or 25 if the lower number is correct) one Medal of Honor was awarded.  The rest of American servicemen must dwell on the thought that even if those of Japanese ancestry did not die in the same proportion as they, the Japanese strain is recognized as the bravest.  Future generations will regard them 20 times more brave than whites. In particular their record at Monte Cassino will be remembered.  One disinterested observer, the man called by Omar Bradley the General's General, British Field Marshall Alexander commented pithily on the great difficulty the allies had at Monte Cassino.  Alexander wrote to Field Marshall Brooke: "Unfortunately we are fighting the best soldiers in the world - what men!... I think I remember reading this in "The Nationalist Times" a couple of years ago. For the life of me, I can't find some info I had on the most decorated regiment during WWII. Endlessly, we have to hear the tales of the 442nd, with Clinton and his pre-election minority medal madness skewing the numbers further. I can't recall which which regiment was actually the most decorated (they were under the "Big Red 1") but it wasn't the 442nd. Even the gutless LA Times ran a letter pointing this fact out several years ago. Do you know which regiment that was? I know I could always hunt it down on the net, but you may know it off the top of your head. I did see Polichinello months ago over on some other forum where I was lurking, just out of amusement. I think it was LF. This forum seems to have the best collection of minds and writers I have seen on the net.
