Air Force creates task force to tackle discrimination suit

The suit, filed by five white, male Robins Air Force Base employees in U.S. District Court in Macon last year, claims female and minority workers were given preferential treatment in annual performance appraisals, which are used to determine raises, promotions and retention.

Stephen Davis, Warner Robins Air Logistics Center executive director, established the 42-person task force in an undated letter to a number of Robins supervisors, The Macon Telegraph reported.

The internal investigation is expected to focus on e-mails exchanged between Robins supervisors in the Avionics Management Directorate's software division in June 2001. The e-mails, which were inadvertently intercepted, discussed annual performance appraisals of the five plaintiffs - Willie Barber, Bill Bobbitt, Danny Kilgore, Samuel Rawlins and Dwight Stone - who work in the software division.

In an e-mail on April 19, 2001, software division chief Larry Israel, directed a supervisor, Harry Jennings, to "more balance the ethnic groups."

Israel instructed Jennings to upgrade two minority males to a higher performance category and downgrade the five white male plaintiffs.

*Can no one rid Commissar Israel of these damned inconvenient vestigial White males? They’re simply not going extinct fast enough. Meanwhile, he’s absolutely gotta meet those “minority” quotas. *
