Paris Exposes Anti-French Disinformation In US Posted By Rosalinda 5-21-3
(Washington Post, Le Monde May 15-18)
In an unprecedented move, French Ambassador to Washington Jean-David Levitte delivered a letter to the White House and Congress, on May 15, denouncing an "organized campaign of disinformation" against France from within the Bush Administration.
A two-page list attached to the letter included reports published by American media based on disinformation aimed to "destroy the image of France."
French officials quoted by Le Monde said they had no doubt that the stories were spread by factions inside the Bush Administration, and Ambassador Levitte accused "US intelligence sources" in an interview with PBS television.
The list attached to Mr. Levitte's letter of complaint started with a New York Times report alleging that France and Germany had supplied Iraq with high-precision switches used in detonating nuclear weapons.
French authorities categorically denied the report.
In November 2002, the Washington Post quoted "American intelligence sources" saying that France possessed prohibited strains of the human smallpox virus.
The French Embassy issued a strong denial.
In March 2003, the Washington Times quoted "US intelligence sources" as saying that two French companies had sold Iraq spare parts for airplanes and helicopters. The next day, the two companies named in the story, and the French Embassy, formally denied it.
The most damaging report, however, came on May 6, when the Washington Times said that France had helped Iraqi leaders wanted by the United States, to escape to Europe, by providing them with French passports, according to an anonymous "American intelligence source."
The French Embassy issued a categorical denial.
Paris accuses the White House or other departments of having made no visible effort to discipline those involved, or even to find out who they are.
On the contrary, White House spokesman Ari Fleischer, on May 6, released a cryptic commentary on the passports case:
"I have that information. I cannot confirm it. I think that the French must explain to us what they have done and what they have not done."
A similar statement was issued by Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld on May 10:
"France has historically had a very close relationship with Iraq. My understanding is that it continued right up until the outbreak of the war. What took place thereafter, we'll find out."

The fact of the matter is this. The Bush Administration knows that France is powerful enough to snub their face. France, as a former colonial power, is well loved around the globe. The lands Frenchmen conquered love them. THat's because they worked with the people, most who speak French. There is no animosity towards the French among third-worlders as there is against the English. Go see for yourself. Generations later, France not only has more nuclear ICBMS than you can shake a stick at, but it has it's own space program. Major. I'm talking about on par with NASA. ANd as far as chemical and biological, guess what ? The French almost single-handedly invented that whole arena, and their excellence is unchallenged. The Anti-Semitism in France is a major reason for the current rift. Whites better thank France . Also, the crapola about WWII is nauseating to me . Americans stormed Normandy, and established a Western Front, which helped to defeat Hitler's Germany, but for our media to say that France would not exist unless that happenned is totally false. All during the German occupation, there was a strong French resistance. Strong enough to topple the Vichy regime. The balls of the Jews to denigrate the French .. cowardly is what they are..twisters of reality and a lie in the face of God !

Indeed. Hopefully the National Party will at some point ascend to power and stem the tide of third-world immigration destroying the country. This isn't such a far-oof hope-the French seem to be the most nationalistic of all European folk.
