The Associated Press Priest drinks blood of 1001 lambs  May 04, 2003
A HINDU priest in southern India offering sacrifices to a village deity slaughtered 1,001 lambs over three hours, then drank the blood from the writhing carcasses.
The annual festival at a temple honouring the god Muneeswarar in Pattaloor village in the southern state of Tamil Nadu on Friday is an ancient tradition dating back more than 1,000 years.
The ritual begins with much gusto and a beating of drums in praise of Muneeswarar and his six other co-gods.
Hundreds of devotees filed into the temple from Pattaloor and nearby hamlets, dragging with them their bleating lambs, which were swiftly dispatched, causing a river of blood to seep out of the temple.
The carcasses were divided among the devotees as a "sacred offering" and then roasted for a community meal accompanied by locally brewed beer.

Do Diaspora Hindus engage in these inhumane, unhygienic practices? If so, where are PETA and the Committee for Public Safety?

Don't worry though...I shall be sure to dig up and post some instance of a white man raping a 2 year old, or engaging in some bizarre abnormal practice. Say, Av, do you think Jerry Springer excerps are online somewhere? **
The difference is that in the US, or any ostensibly white country, any of the aforementioned behaviors are considered abnormal. In India and other third world nations, animal and human sacrifice, rape, pedophilia, burning brides to death because of insufficient dowries and other behaviors are considered the norm, barely worthy of attention.

Roy!
"If only you could see what I've seen with your eyes"...
"Four...five... how to stay alive"
"I've seen things you people wouldn't believe..."
Hee hee... loved the movie, man.

On the other hand, your bastardized culture glorifies and promotes race-mixing, infidelity, divorce (more than 50% rate), and homosexuality. Not to mention feminism.
All these are subhuman perversions, but are considered normal practice by you white abnormal creatures.
Jerry Springer is not a once a month show...he manages to find this perverted stuff every day. Many are white guests, and all prove the fact that Western society is immoral, corrupt, and rotten to the core.
And you know it. **
Gee rban. I think you'd better take a look at your own jewish culture as the steam engine behind all of the behaviors you list as the faults of 'my' bastardized culture.

This picture is worth the proverbial thousand words. It sums up all the superiority of the Hindu culture over that of those inferior white Europeans.
Apparently scores of women are burned to death for small dowries. Raped. Placed in prostitution by age 12. All this and more every hour of every day in India. Do you think we could get Jerry jew Springer to take his show on the road? No, I guess not. Wouldn't be PC.
Yep, America is one big Springer show.

Well, I can tell you this; in this country, as bad as things are, as neighbors, we'd be living in houses. In India, the land of gold, the pinnacle of human acheivement, we'd be fighting for the best spot on the sidewalk to set up shop as beggars. I think I'll take my white inferiority over a lifestyle of begging, disease, poverty ...
Yeah, it's all collapsing around us. Like it's been said a million times. Worse is better. The faster it goes, the faster the clean up will be. The elites always try the total take over, and they always overreach. Same for the jews. Natural cycle of things.

Rban, you don't NEED Jerry Springer -- whites can be found in the NEWS doing bad stuff... I just thought it odd that a Hindu was doing this.. what with you holding them up as such paragons... Besides --this isn't weird or sick guys doing it --it's a PRIEST! As part of his priestly duties (!?)

Any guesses on how many Catholic priests are closet fa...oooops, politically incorrect term coming....homosexuals? Probably 90%, I would say? **
rban,
I don't know if the number is quite so high as 90%, but I have an observation to contribute that may support your view.
My college was a Jesuit institution--you know them--the sect of Catholic priests who spend their time in Central America fomenting communist revolution.... Anyway, they obviously have a Religious Studies department, and I knew two students who were studying to be priests. Now, this is an anecdote, so I can't say this was statistically representative since I only knew two students...but BOTH of them were homos--closet cases at first but they gradually went more public with it as time went on.
I don't know what it is that attracts gays into the priesthood like this. I had a theory that they subconsciously know that their behavior is at odds with Church doctrine, so I supposed that they were trying to somehow trying to absolve themselves of their sin by becoming priests. I know that a lot of people have less charitable theories about the homos' motivations.
I should note that one of these two eventually decided to quit his studies to be a priest because he honestly did believe in the religion and felt that it was wrong for him to pursue the priesthood while being gay. Interesting, though, that he decided to remain gay as he abandoned his studies, but at least he had enough integrity to not defile the priesthood.

Rban:
I for one feel a genuine kinship with this Hindu priest.
The simple fact is that we Catholics (and Orthodox Christians) believe that we slaughter the Lamb and then feed on His Flesh and drink His Blood every Sunday.
We call it the "Sacrifice of the Mass."
In fact, we Catholics believe that the Lamb was both human and Devine, King and Servant, and thus we are in a very real sense god-killers, regicides, cannibals. All of the great religions of the world have these sorts of pre-rational weird aspects to them; they are the very thing that make them vital and "great" in the first place.
The actions of this Hindu priest proves that all humans share deeply evolved needs that express themselves in religious ritual. The Sacrifice of the Mass is, I think clearly, a much more sublimely beautiful ritual than the one discussed in the article, but on a spiritual level the two have much in common.
Hinduism is one of the great religions of the world, and although it is not my religion, I certainly respect it. You say you are a Hindu, yet you would seem to find embarrassing Hindu religious practices.
One can only wonder why.
I find your denial of Hindu relgion telling. Your real religion would appear to be something more like Bourgeois Protestant Taste.
Or are you withholding something from us?
Tell me the truth, rban. You're not really a Hindu, are you. For if you were, you'd not find the very stuff of Hinduism objectionable.
C'mon, 'fess up. You're - shall we say - of a different Tribe, que no?
Regards,
Walter
