The latest from www.bnp.org.uk:
*Counting is over, celebration and quiet reflection
Posted:3rd May 2003 Those election headlines in summary.
BNP wins in :
Burnley - 7 new councillors elected Halifax (Calderdale Council) - 1 new councillor elected Broxbourne (Herts) - 1 new councillor elected Stoke- 1 new councillor elected Dudley- 1 new councillor elected Sandwell - 2 councillors elected
Together with our three councillors in Calderdale, Burnley and Blackburn this brings us to having a total of 17 elected councillors.
In addition to the excellent wins, we can be upbeat about the very good gains achieved elsewhere
Glasgow (Holyrood Parliament) - vote quadrupled since 1999 when EU elections held. Oldham - vote increased from 2002, as absolute and share of votes. Good 2nd positions in Chadderton North, Chadderton South, Failsworth West, Royton North, St. James. Good 2nd results from Bradford; Bolton ward, Idle ward, Queensbury ward (145 votes short of a win!),Shipley East ward, Good 2nd results from elsewhere in Calderdale- 113 votes short of a win in Northrowram ward, 2nd place in Mixenden. Good 2nd results from Kirklees, Nick Cass coming 2nd with 27.8% in Thornhill and Karl Hanson with 30.1 in Mirfield.
All these areas will see wins for the party in due course.*
