As the NCAA basketball tournament began and ââ¬ÅMarch Madnessââ¬Â swept campuses all across the nation, a different sort of madness overtook the University of Virginia (UVa). This madness had nothing to do with basketball, but tells us a lot about racial politics in America.
On February 26, a 19-year-old biracial student named Daisy Lundy claimed she had been attacked by a white man. Her story: as a candidate for Student Council president, she had decided to go out for ââ¬Åa little late-night campaigning at the library.ââ¬Â She walked to her car at around 2:00 a.m. to get her cell phone. The white attacker approached her, grabbed her by her ponytail and pushed her head against the car. During the assault, she claimed, the attacker said: ââ¬ÅNo one wants a negro to be president.ââ¬Â
(UVa has had five black student council presidents since 1990, without incident. Lundy was facing a runoff election, just before her alleged attack, owing to irregularities in her campaign. Her opponent, Ed Hallen, who is white and male, withdrew after the alleged attack, citing concerns that a "divisive" election could compromise the community's attempt to unite after the February 26 attack.ââ¬Â)
Lundy said she suffered a minor concussion and injured her ankle and knee.
There were no witnesses.
The FBI immediately launched a civil-rights investigation.
The response of the university community was even more dramatic. UVa officials called a mass meeting titled ââ¬ÅCommunity Reflection and Response.ââ¬Â A large crowd packed the schoolââ¬â¢s ballroom for the discussion......

This young woman obviously fabricated her story in an attempt to jump start her floundering campaign.
She says that she had been visiting a campaign worker and decided to go out to her car at freakin 2:00 am to fetch something when the supposed attack occurred. I'm sure the hard core racists who infest the UVA campus are prone to wander about at 2:00 yelling out "n****R" to any black they encounter. I'm sure this is an ongoing and well documented problem.
Apparently no one at UVA has the guts to call her a liar. For she is certainly that. And an opportunistic and cynical one. I suspect everybody in town knows it with the exception of the "OJ is innocent" crowd who are now running things and first on their agenda will be sensitivity training for all the white students including the deracinated idiot who voluntarily stepped aside to give her a clear shot.
She is now the reining Coretta Scott King of Charlottsville.

Now that's an awfully cynical point of view ;)

Now you bash our hallowed universities as well. No wonder neo's say that Paleo's hate America ;). (I wonder BTW where all the neo's are on typicalk incidents like this. They probably say its all due to anger among blacks stirred up by Trent Lott.

Refresh my memory. What did Correta Scott King do?

**Refresh my memory. What did Correta Scott King do? **
I know it was a rhetorical question.
Coretta has this in common with Crazy Guggenheimer: she didn't do nuttin'.
But since the beatification of her whore chasing husband she has perfected one thing that is important among civil rights charlatans. She has perfected the facial expression that I first saw on the features of Ingrid Bergman in Joan of Arc. It is the look of the martyr. And it is mostly a trick done with the eyes. See, the trick is that you never blink. And you are always casting your gaze skyward as if a flock of seagulls were passing overhead. It also helps to look as if you are about to burst into tears, although only the rankest of amateurs would do anything so gauche.
When you have the look of the martyr people take everything you say seriously no matter how looney it is. Coretta Scott King and Nelson Mandela are prime examples of this phenomenon.
Among the cognicenti who appreciate the art involved in The Look, there is one master who stands alone. He is the standard against which all charlatans affecting The Look are measured.
I am speaking of that erstwhile Pan African and serial faster Randall Robinson, the Jean Claude Killy of The Look.
The Look has now filtered down to the lowest common denominator in the black community. If the local paper does an inspiring story on a section 8 mother and her IQ challenged son who aspires to the Neurosurgury chair at Hopkins they are both certain to be affecting The Look. It's an important part of the blacks as victims hagiography.
Some black leaders are better at it then others. Al Sharpton is still in the triple A Lookwise and will probably never be more than a journeyman. Calypso Red has it down pat but adds his defiant little hard edge to it that appeals to the convicts. Jesse practices the Chicago Look as opposed to the Atlanta Look favored by Morehouse men. MLK believed that Look men were born not made and used to make fun of Ralph David Abernathy's pathetic attempts.
I'm certain we haven't heard the last of this young woman in Charlottsville. If she hasn't made the crucial mistake of trying to move into the Bigs before she is ready Lookwise then we may expect great things of her. H. Rap Brown is probably the prime example of a guy who was rushed before he had it down pat. And look what happened to him.

What did happen to Rap BTW? Actually he was the only black militant leader I really sort of liked. His "violence is as American as apple pie" is a true classic. :afro:
In the old days the black movement was at least masculine, and did manly things like rape, riot, and burn buildings down. Now they're just a bunch of whing backstabbing feminists like Daisy.

Rap was recently convicted of murdering a policeman.
Rap's best line was right after the Detroit riots.
He said "there ain't nothin still standin in Motown 'cept Smokey. And that's a Miracle".

Not true. Craze would always follow up his drunken buffoonery with a nice song, at least.

This is the ONLY PLACE I have come across that appeciates, and has the acuity to comment on, these staged victimless outrages.
It has happened twice at the upstate NY college (Binghamton) I was at. Once, by the president of the Jewish Student Union -- not proven, though he was arrested for spray-painting Nazi griffiti because his fingerprints were found on the can, but got off on a technicality. Second, a few years later, by a black girl running for a Student body proesident, who received an also-fake letter using "racial slurs" under heading of a known right-wing editor's logo. I have posted above my participation in the first case -- knew the right-wing guy's 'family'' friends in the second, but kept clear. It absolutely killed student government on campus. The next year after the last one, a harried old security guard guy pepper-sprayed a group who were trying to push into the room where the clique in charge was hi-jacking their budget. It was terrible. They're just kids.
The point is, people are so naturally good-hearted, when an occassion like this comes along allowing them to show solidarity with the oppressed, they are unstoppable. Thery are simply unable or unwilling to look at the circumstances closely. **In both cases, despite outcries of FRAUD! the response was as at UVa: to pour out sympathy for the staged 'victims'** MO: To elicit, then use, people's affections for political gain. The narcissistic end-product, when it reaches the point of a Towanda Brawley, of the twisted drive to thrive off other's response to one's own self hatred. I just know its going to sound prejudiced, but I think this could be a cynical strategy used by Jews and blacks to capitalize off liberal guilt feelings and natural human sympathy for the underdog.
Just a thought. I know I'm not sane. Been thinkin' of him! -- but couldn't get Crazy Guggenheim's name, until these posts. I just know we are all being reborn. Or something. The eevil in the weevil is the rude in the dude. Jews are bringing the White man to consciousness, Jesus didn't even have to die.

Here's something about the "attack" I found using google. BTW Lundy is black/Korean. Even I'm beginning to feel sorry for her.
Lundy, 19, declined a request for an interview. In a statement released through the university, she described the incident as representative of "a larger problem of exclusion" at U-Va. and joined in the Coalition's demand for more minority services and diversity education.
Yadda yadda yadda. Do these people ever say anything original?
Students interviewed on campus yesterday offered differing views of the racial climate at Virginia.
"Education on race relations is great," said Benjamin Dekker, 21, a senior from Annandale, who is white. "But I don't think the community as a whole should be blamed for the actions of one person."
Notice the obligatory disclaimer prior to the inevitable but. Oh, yeah, it's good we get educated on race relations. It's REAL good.
Non-Hispanic white students make up nearly 70 percent of U-Va.'s undergraduate population, with Asian Americans composing 10.8 percent, African Americans 8.9 percent and Latinos 2.9 percent.
I never thought of Izzy as a non hispanic white, and neither does Izzy.
The university has been grappling with questions about the status of minority students since the fall, when the campus was roiled by the revelation of photos from a fraternity Halloween party at which several guests appeared in blackface.
Jolson Sings Again!
Since then, officials have convened a task force on diversity and commissioned what they called an "unvarnished history" of race relations at the school.
Start boiling the Linseed oil. Cause when they say 'unvarnished" you can bet the opposite is true. Any mention of the black on white violence that plagues undergrads will be verboten. Black on white violence. What black on white violence?
In an e-mail sent to students over the weekend, President John T. Casteen III promised "longer-term actions, including redoubled efforts to teach the values of human differences, of mutual respect, and of a community grounded in trust, openness and inclusiveness."
In other words, we will redouble our efforts to brainwash white kids into disbelieving what their eyes, ears and experience tells them about blacks, homos and fill in the blanks here. And if that is unsuccessful we will at least instill enough fear into them that they will quietly aquiese in their dispossession.
Among the still-evolving demands set out by the Coalition in classroom discussions today were some more specific ideas: a new vice presidency devoted to coordinating diversity efforts, a multimillion-dollar fundraising campaign to help underwrite that office, and new academic programs for Asian American, Latino and gay and lesbian studies.
Well, they just filled in the blanks, didn't they. Speaking of lesbians, how come the lesbians on campus never look like ones I see on Howard Stern? That's the first question I'm gonna axe the new VP.
Students were being encouraged to sign form letters with these demands, which the Coalition planned to deliver to members of the university Board of Visitors.
In Anthropology 357 ** this morning,(you can bet it was cultural not physical) the lecture was postponed in favor of a discussion about the blackface controversy**, (what the hell does the atack have to do with anthropology?) led by Michael Dunkley, a senior who is co-president of the Black Fraternal Council. "My first reaction was anger, that I can't believe this is happening at U-Va.," he said. "My second reaction was, 'I can believe this. This is U-Va., the crown jewel of the South.' "(excluding tittie bars and rib joints, of course)
UVA was his 3rd choice. Grambling and Norfolk state were 1 and 2.
The racially mixed class then launched into a wide-ranging discussion about "the objectification of the black body" and the concept of "the noble savage," questioning whether liberal critiques of national security adviser Condoleezza Rice as a "puppet" of President Bush are racist, and whether white sportscasters condescend to black sports stars by calling them "natural athletes."
Some white students agreed with the call for more diversity education -- "I need to be forced to deconstruct race," said one man -- while others expressed concern about the demand for more ethnic studies.
There's always a white masochist begging some hardass to put his cigarette out on his face.
Patricia M. Lampkin, vice president for student affairs, said the university is considering educational programs. She argued, though, that U-Va. might do better to "integrate" its diversity efforts throughout the institution than center them in one new vice president's office.
Uh oh, we got a turf battle here.
Many students interviewed on campus said they were most troubled by the tendency of their classmates to self-segregate by race.
"Everybody stays in their own little groups," said Derrick Crews, a sophomore who is black. "You see the Asians by themselves, the blacks by themselves -- there's not a lot of mingling."
Derrick came to UVA hoping to do some serious cross racial juking.

I eagerly await the capture of Lundy's attacker. Let's see who he is, this terrible racist! Reminds me of the increasing and documented phenomenon of "hate crimes" staged by blacks themselves. Just watch - the failure to find a suspect won't raise any questions. Nobody will poke around this story.
I remember working as a student journalist at Midwestern U in the 90s - our paper ran a story about how one of the would-be student government representatives had spent some time in prison on a child molestation charge. Said individual was gay, and made much of it (though kept is time in prison to himself). The campus went apesheet. We were accused of perpetuating gay stereotypes, never mind that the information was true. Campus radicals dumped hundreds of copies of the paper.
All of which made me a great fan of Horowitless's Heterodoxy. Shouldn't there be a racialist version of that for college campuses? I bet it would have takers.

I'd like to see Linder, possibly some others, take a swing at The Look. Not that they'd outdo EVZ's masterful version.
