What She Wrote, Whom She Meant
Not long ago, the newspaper columnist Maureen Dowd got into heap big trouble for saying that certain racially-Jewish persons were pushing the Iraq war. Here is a news item about what Dowd wrote:
"Monday, Oct. 7, 2002; New York Times columnist Maureen Dowd was on the hot seat Monday morning for a paragraph buried deep in her Sunday column where she seemed to blame "influential Jewish conservatives" for persuading President Bush to go to war in Iraq. "Influential Jewish conservatives inside and outside the administration have been fierce in supporting a war on Saddam, thinking it could help Israel by scrambling the Middle East map and encouraging democracy," contended the Irish Catholic liberal. Dowd's suggestion that Jews in the Bush administration were putting Israel's interests over the U.S.'s raised eyebrows on the "Imus in the Morning" program..." [end of quote].
Whom was Dowd referring to? Which Jews?
Likely, to these top Jews surrounding George W. Bush:
a). Richard Perle -- One of Bush's Foreign Policy Advisors. He is chairman of the Pentagon's Defense Policy Board.
B]. Paul Wolfowitz -- Deputy Defense Secretary, Bush's foreign policy campaign advisor.

h). Richard Haass -- Director of Policy Planning at the State Department and Ambassador at large. He is also Director of National Security Programs and Senior Fellow at the Council on Foreign Relations (CFR).
i). Henry Kissinger -- One of many Pentagon Advisors, Kissinger sits on the Pentagon's Defense Policy Board.
j). James Schlesinger -- One of many Pentagon Advisors, Schlesinger also sits on the Pentagon's Defense Policy Board.
k). Robert Zoellick -- U.S. Trade Representative, a cabinet-level position.
l). Mel Sembler -- President of the Export-Import Bank of the United States. A Prominent Jewish Republican and Former National Finance Chairman of the Republican National Committee.
m). Ari Fleischer -- Official White House Spokesman for the Bush (Jr) Administration. Prominent in the Jewish community.

p). Adam Goldman -- White House's Special Liaison to the Jewish Community.
q). Joseph Gildenhorn -- Bush Campaign's Special Liaison to the Jewish Community.

I heard Don Imus recently asked a reporter: "You speak Hebrew, what's going on over at the White House?"

Heh, heh, yes, I will dig up that quote....

I watch Imus on Msnbc every day but now I can't see him because of the war. He's not on my radio so I'm missing his show. Last week he had an awkward segment with Tom Rose from the Jerusalem Post on one day after Pat Buchanon was on.
Buchanon had agreed with what Maureen Dowd had written and Rose was stating how it was the same old blame the jews for all the worlds problems argument.
I usually like Imus but during the Rose segment he made that old joke about how Buchanon also lost a relative in the concentation camps-that he had fallen out of a guard tower, etc.

I can't help liking Imus myself. He's not afraid to take jabs at off-limits Sacred Cows like nigras (somewhat blunted with a "we're just playing" chuckle). But I didn't know he'd taken a shot at Hymie. Usually he likes to name-drop the Big Jews in whose circles he moves as a minor figure.
