Iraq war to give rise to more anti-Semitism

Jerusalem Post Mar. 19, 2003

No matter how long or short the war against Iraq, it is "virtually inevitable" that the worldwide Jewish community will face an increase of anti-Semitic attacks, especially in Europe, according to Hebrew University Prof. Robert Wistrich.

"Although no one can predict how this war is going to go, I don't think it will make much difference whether it is a quick, effective war that removes Saddam in a very short time, which would be the best scenario for all around," said Wistrich, a senior fellow at the Shalem Center and the head of Hebrew University's Vidal Sassoon International Center for the Study of Anti-Semitism.

"But even if that is the case, I still think that the anger and the rage will be expressed on the streets in Europe. In France, we're very likely to get a repeat of attacks on more vulnerable Jewish targets, the kind we saw earlier in 2002 which have somewhat declined in recent months, though there are more of them than meets the eye. That will revive."

...

Rather than blaming some terrorist perpetrators, they will see it as a revenge or a reprisal for the attack on Iraq, which will justify it, and it will come back to the primary cause, which is either Palestine, or the role of Jews, together with America in having brought about this situation.

Many people will adopt this semi-conspiratorial thesis to say, 'This is what is brought upon us. We said this has to be peacefully resolved, now we're reaping the terrorist whirlwind, because we should never have been involved in this.' "

The anti-war demonstrations that have been taking place across Europe for the last month are a clear sign of how the Jews are being targeted as the cause of the war.

"It's no secret when you look at the slogans which are brandished by the demonstrators, that for many people who protest the war vehemently, they see this as Sharon's war, they see this as the Jews' war," he said.

I agree with this article.

Anti-Semitism will certainly grow among the anti-war movement, precisely because it will inevitably be perceived as the Jews' war.

And rightly so. We wouldn't be doing this were it not for the Jewish neo-cons and their Dispensationalist Christian lackeys.

Which doesn't mean that the Houston Oil Boys wouldn't still want it. The neo-cons and company are an necessary, but not sufficient, cause.
