The Vatican says it has no intention of shutting its embassy in Iraq should war break out, although other governments are closing their missions and evacuating staff. A statement by papal spokesman Joaquin Navarro-Valls called it a "time-honored tradition" that Vatican diplomats remain near the people they are serving "even in situations of extreme danger." © 2003 The Associated Press

With the expose of the priest/hierarchy scandals over the past year it has certainly been disheartening for us Catholics. That the embassy of the Holy See should be alone in remaining open and suffering along with the people of Baghdad, makes me proud to be a member of the Church of Rome.

It sure takes a lot of guts, doesn't it.

Pope loses temper at Blair and Berlusconi It's too bad that we can't accept the coverage of this conflict which is baby-fed to us by the mega propaganda complex in Quatar. Mobile units like offices included. It doesn't appear that CNN will be in Baghdad for long, making the American media's portayal of events purely dependant on the military. All this tech, but less truth. The tech makes it possible for them to limit the dissemination of the truth.
