If this correspondentââ¬â¢s statistics and projections are correct--THE IRISH ARE AN ETHNIC MINORITY IN IRELAND WITHIN 5 YEARS! Happy St. Patrickââ¬â¢s Day.
**From VNN Reader Mail 3/15/2003 **
Hi Alex,
Well done to the Daily Mirror for speaking out on the subject of abuse by 'refugees' of the asylum system.
I often wondered when reading official figures were the Government telling us the truth or were there more.
If this article from Galway Advertiser is accurate then it raises a number of very serious issues:
"http://www.galwayadvertiser.com/dws/story.tpl?inc=2003/03/20/news/32567.html"
The actual numbers of 'asylum seekers/refugees' here, increase
The percentage who are conferred refugee status;
The cost;
The projected increase
The effects
The actual numbers
The official number of 'asylum seekers/refugees' in the country is 50,000 which is bad enough but did the figures include mothers who came here to have a child on Irish soil?
This article states that in December 2002 in the city 1898 'asylum seekers' had not gained refugee status an increase of 557 since January and 1523 had gained status an increase of 773 since January. 1523 + 1898 = 3421. This is what I had estimated as I had been informed that the number of adult 'asylum seekers/refugees' claiming benefit in the main post office in Galway city was approximately 2000. There are at least six sub post offices in the city.
According to the latest census the population of Galway is 65,774 out of a total population of 3,917,336 (1) approximately 1/60th. If there is an even distribution of 'asylum seekers/refugees' around the country and it would appear that there is, then there would be sixty times that number 3421 x 60 = 205,260 and not 50,000 as the Government would have us believe. And that's only adults as far as I'm aware. Add in just one child for every adult and the total figure is 410,000 add a few more and its almost HALF A MILLION!
Officially we re told that about 3% are genuine. Of course this didn't take into account mothers who came here to have a child on Irish soil. This article suggests that almost half have been granted refugee status and the other half are awaiting their decisions. If half have been granted staus what about the 3% official figure? We can preseume the rest will be granted refugee status too. So does everyone then get granted official refugee status? Is deportation a charade?
3% get refugee status and 97% declined? It would appear that 3% declined and 97% receive Refugee Status
Conservatively if each adult 'asylum seeker/refugee' costs the state 500 per week then:
500 x 52 weeks = 26,000 per year 26,000 x 200,000 + 5,200,000,000
FIVE THOUSAND TWO HUNDRED MILLION THIS YEAR ALONE
The total Government revenue for the country is 31billion so
ONE SIXTH OF TOTAL GOVERNMENT REVENUE
The number which had gained refugee status had doubled in one year and theother had increased by a third.So if the trend continues then usung 2002 as the base year the numbers in Galway alone will increase by the following;
Year Number of 'asylum seekers/refugees'
1898 increasing by a third & 1523 doubling
2002 3421 (1898 + 1/3 = 2530) ( 1523 x 2 = 3046) 2530 + 1523 = 5576 ( increase of 61%)
2003 5576 2004 8977 2005 14453 2006 23125 2006 37232
And that adults only in Galway alone. Add 1 child for each adult and 74464
The total for the country as a whole would be 74464 x 60 = 4,467,840
And that's only if they increase uniformly by those percentages.

Obviously, these numbers are bullshit. This is the kind of crankery that needs to shouted down as it only makes us look like fools.
