I wrote the below to Senator Byrd urging him to show courage. If anybody wishes to copy this, please do so. I believe that if we do not stop, we will be facing terror for the next 50 to 100 years. I am quite sure the American populace is not up to facing that.> **The United States Senate The Honorable Senator Robert Byrd

Dear Senator Byrd,

I write in deep anger, not at you, but at those will commit this country to a war that will continue for generations.  If you do not choose to read this, I ask that somebody on your staff do so.

More than 12 years ago on the day of the vote on Desert Storm you, then perhaps the most powerful senator of all, complained, "We are slaves to some of the lobbying groups.  I do not have to name names, but I could".  Yet you did not.  Less than two weeks ago onetime Democratic presidential candidate former Senator Gary Hart gave a speech in the San Francisco Bay Area in which he said, "We must not let our role in the world be dictated by Americans who too often find it hard to distinguish their loyalties to their original homelands from their loyalties to America and its national interests."

ABC news still remembering Pat Buchanan's talk of "New York bankers" asked him to clarify his remarks. Was he talking about Jewish supporters of Israel?  So after he finished his speech at the Stanford Law School, reporters "waited patiently to ask him to whom or to what he is referring in talking about Americans with allegedly divided loyalties."  Hart was reluctant to cite any specific examples at first, but when pressed offered up Irish Americans and Cuban Americans as two of many examples of lobbying groups who exercise disproportionate power, sometimes, in his view, skewing U.S. policy.  Hart did not mention Israel and American Jews, but did mention Cuba and Ireland.  This sissified language has become accepted as normal for political discourse in America.

For supporting the sale of AWAC planes to Saudi Arabia Illinois Republican, Charles Percy, became the prey of the Israeli lobby.  After he was bagged in 1984 by Jews, Tom Dine, the director of AIPAC, bragged that money and power of Jews did Senator Percy in: "And American politicians got the message".  Former Senator George McGovern complained in 1986 that it was of great political risk not to give everything to Israel that it and AIPAC wanted.  This lesson George Bush learned in 1992.  So great was the arrogance and power of AIPAC that one former Democratic fund-raiser explained that no one can run for national office without Jewish support.  This fiscal clout has explained the reluctance of representatives from areas with little Jewish presence to do or say anything critical of Israeli policies.    Presently Mr. Dine is conducting propaganda, ostensibly in support of American interests as an American government employee, but a cynic would guess Israel’s interests are never far from his mind.

Speaking about Forbidden Topics

On February 12 of this year you spoke in the Senate about the silence, “We Stand Passively Mute”.  The United States is to be committed to a war that will plague us for generations and yet nobody will speak.  The time has not come, but long has passed, when somebody with moral courage must stand and speak unwelcomed truths.  As astutely stated by you, the United States is now threatening with nuclear weapons a nation with over 50% of its population under 15.  We are being flogged towards war by a lobby led by American Jews with much greater concern for Israel than the United States.  From the Civil War to today the Jews of America have escaped our wars by deceptive, cowardly behavior.  Jews even escaped proportional service in World War I Germany as they did in the holy of holies, World War II.  Yet the Jews of Germany died for the Kaiser at almost 10 times the rate their American kin would fighting (by their definition) the most evil country ever to exist, Adolf Hitler’s Germany.  So much for the claptrap people will fight and die for a noble cause.

Yale and Harvard types did not fight in the Civil War anywhere near their proportion in the general population.  The northern elite have not considered cowardice a defect worthy of censure.  If Jews and the wealthy northern “elite” will not fight, the question must be asked who will?  In the war in Vietnam blacks, contrary to general impression, did not sacrifice in proportion to their numbers.  This narrows the search considerably.

A legitimate question to be asked has been where did many, if not most, of the Vietnam War dead come from.  A tentative answer can be gleaned from looking at the dead of Logan County, West Virginia.  With a population of 45,000 the county had 48 young men die in Vietnam.  The death rate of Logan County was roughly four times the national average for that war.  Two of the dead, Ted Belcher and Frankie Molnar, received the Medal of Honor posthumously for their bravery.  To put the sacrifice and courage of these men in perspective, during World War II American Jewry with a population of almost five million were awarded two Medals of Honor for their courage.  Yet these men from a depressed coal mining area in West Virginia were typical of the men who have received no sympathy or recognition from a national media more concerned with childish exhibitions of rectitude and sleaziness.  The men of Logan County died at almost 25 times the rate Jews did.  Their reward has been to be mocked and humiliated by the national media.  The states of West Virginia, Oklahoma, and Montana suffered casualties at almost twice the rate of New York, New Jersey and Connecticut according to Vietnam Magazine.  In the Vietnam War West Virginia had the highest per capita death rate of any state, roughly ten times the rate American Jews died.  Without question the Hispanics of the country died out of proportion to their number.  Vietnam Magazine gave an estimate of 5.5 percent of the American war dead when in 1970 they were 4.5 percent of the 1970 population.  That you, whose constituents furnished far more than their share of the body count in all of America's wars, were reluctant to confront the Jewish lobby has shown how fearful American legislators have become.

The New York Times, most often the voice of corporate America, has as its star columnist William Safire, who admitted to voting for Bill Clinton, because he resented Bush Sr.’s stance toward Yitzhak Shamir and Israel.  He thought Bush Sr. was forcing Israel to sit up and beg for its money.  He resented Mr. Bush stopping Israel from retaliating against Saddam Hussein’s scuds.  The effect on American troops in the Gulf never entered Safire’s mind.  He did not challenge Yitzhak Shamir’s statement that by populating the West Bank with Jews “we will make impossible the establishment of a Palestinian state.”  Perhaps he regarded the disenfranchisement of Arabs as being in America’s interest.  Safire has never questioned Shamir’s leadership of the Stern Gang that fought and killed Americans and Britons after the Germans rejected their overtures to become allies of Hitler.  He wrote of Yitzhak Rabin’s exploits in the six-day war as attesting to his military and command competence.  During that war the USS Liberty was deliberately attacked by the Israeli Air Force and 34 American sailors died.  This number was 34 deaths more than Israeli Jews suffered from Saddam’s scuds.  American lives and interests are of distinct secondary importance to those in power at the New York Times.

Arthur Sulzburger, publisher of the New York Times, exemplifies much of existing press bias to those who fought in Vietnam.  If a Viet Cong and American soldier faced one another on the battlefield, Arthur replied "I would want to see the American get shot."  When one American prisoner of war stated that he had been tortured while in North Vietnamese custody, Seymour Hersh, a onetime reporter for the New York Times, accused the man of seriously distorting and misrepresenting the prison conditions inside North Vietnam.  This prisoner of war simply declared he had been hung from the ceiling; had his fingernails pulled out; had lived in a cage for three years; and had been dragged along the ground with a broken leg.  This depravity never interested Hersh.  While working for the New York Times, Seymour Hersh won the Pulitzer Prize for reporting on the massacre at My Lai.  That Hersh and the Pulitzer Prize jury would not consider atrocities committed against Americans was indicative of how far self-hate has taken over among the American opinion makers.  The much greater butchery at Hue in 1968 has been deliberately forgotten by the curators of American culture.  Torture has never bothered the New York Times as much as they bray about human depravity.  Resident conscience and crybaby for many years, Anthony Lewis, thought legitimate governments such as Israel had the right to torture.  Mr. Lewis seldom judged American supported governments to be worthy of his support.

Prof. Martin van Creveld, a renowned military historian from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, has offered his assessment of what some in Israel may be thinking necessary to insure Israel’s survival. The learned scholar suggested the hard right has pondered bombarding Palestinian cities and carrying out genocide: "Perhaps 5.000 or 10.000 killed won't be enough, and then we will have to kill more". Though this eccentric, almost insane suggestion showed madness, he concluded by saying that "it is better that there be one massive crime, after which we will exit and lock the gate behind us" .

Later van Creveld predicted that a US attack on Iraq or a terrorist strike at home could trigger a massive mobilization to clear the occupied territories of their two million Arabs.  During its 1948 War of Independence, Israel drove 650,000 Palestinians from their homes into neighboring countries. If it were to try something similar today, the outcome could well be a regional war. More and more people in Jerusalem believe that such is Mr. Sharon's objective.

It might explain why Mr. Sharon, famous for his ability to plan ahead, appears not to have a plan. In fact, he has always harbored a very clear plan - nothing less than to rid Israel of the Palestinians.  Such a scenario could easily come about. Mr. Sharon would have to wait for a suitable opportunity - such as an American offensive against Iraq.  The association of America acting on behalf of Israel and her interests will be impossible to eradicate from rational westernized minds, much less Islamic memory.  We will suffer terror for generations and deserve much of it.

Ordinarily I try to do the decent thing and would keep this communication private, but these are not ordinary times.  Both of us, I as a Vietnam veteran and you as a Senator from West Virginia, owe a debt to the Ted Belchers and Frank Molnars of this country.  I am making this communication public and will try to force you and others to start talking  about American interests.  Chuck Percy and Paul Findlay will continue to be quiet and take their beating as good boys should.  They will go to the grave wondering why they were punished.

If I can be of any assistance to you, please get in touch with me using telephone or e-mail.

With Great Respect,**

"That Hersh and the Pulitzer Prize jury would not consider atrocities committed against Americans was indicative of how far self-hate has taken over among the American opinion makers." Actually, if you look a the folks behind the Pulitzer, it is more a demonstration of hatred against non-jews, against whites. These filthy, two faced lying sons of Haifa whores are running the whole show, there's no self hate. But I understand the point you are making.

I like this letter - it should be sent to the NYT and every other major paper for the Hell of it, never mind our eunuch representatives in DC.

The worthy complaints that Edward Gibbon puts forth should be put in the light and published in the national and local media, but that won't happen. Issues as these are never discussed, but locked in secrecy. Imagine the talking heads discoursing on Jews and their lobbies, and the many swindles they put over on the country that has done well to them. Thanks, Edward Gibbon for taking the time for contacting Sen. Byrd. If all gave the effort you have, we would be in different circumstances.
