Alex Linder's inimitable spintro to yet more antiantiwar oy veying at WorldNetDaily:
*He's registered at Free Republic. He reads WorldNetDeli. He writes conventional letters against conventional targets. He's smug, yet insecure. He's scared, yet he struts. He's easily flattered, hence easily duped. It never occurs to him that his opinions originate in other men's minds. He reads something he never thought of, two days later it was his all along. He was just reminded of what he knew. Because he isn't, he responds to the publisher's solicitation telling him he's a littler sharper, shrewder, sexier than the rest of the crowd. It is almost impossible to manipulate him so grossly that he recognizes it. Incapable of gauging value, he sides with the dominant view. If authority weren't right, it wouldn't be Authority. God might be real, and so it's best to stay on his good side, but money is real Absolutely. Anyone not driven first and last by its acquisition is weird, scornable. But, lacking imagination, at heart he doesn't really believe such people exist. At work he's a team player. Respect and money and labels are his guides. Acknowledged standards of quality for people with no capacity for recognizing it on their own. He takes things at face value because he has no means for measurement. He's not a bad man, he's an average man. But his nature leaves him open to manipulation by intelligent, interested parties. It is good for jews now to whip up hysteria against France. Wimps. Cowards. Cheese-eating surrender monkeys, they tell him. We saved their ass. TV and radio and newspaper opinionmongers pule as one. Soon our man adds his independent voice to the chorus. Perhaps his son's blood will flow, but that's ok. They have respectable rituals for that too. *
