Flashy pimp shindig stirs outrage in Atlanta Players Ball described as fashion show

Rich Addicks / AJC Alesia Adams of the Center to End Adolescent Sexual Exploitation, was appalled to learn of next week's Players Ball.

If you can't get inside the exclusive NBA Players Association party next weekend, there'll be another "players ball" in town.
But instead of celebrating basketball all-stars, this party features celebrities of a different sort: people who call themselves pimps -- fur-coated, alligator-booted, Cadillac-driving men who make money selling women for sex. "The World's Famous Players Ball," hosted by pimp-turned-preacher Bishop Don Juan and rapper Snoop Dogg, takes place .........................................

Appropriately, this ape-fest is being held in Atlanta, "the Mecca of the Black Middle Class." Remove the Gummit Employees, and pimps likely would BE the 'black middle class.' Oh, I forgot drug dealers........

You called it, Il Ragno. It's no coincidence they are being held at the same time. The "Player's Ball" was previously held in Las Vegas - but it's been moved. The LVPD decided to drop in and run ID and background checks on the attendees, and arrested dozens and dozens of pimps, ho's, etc. that had warrants, were escapees from custody and the like. I guess Atlanta will be more willing to look the other way. LV has more "family" attractions like Circus Circus, the MGM, Excalibur, etc. Even Sin City has to worry about mom and pop tourists and their kids wandering the strip with Sniff Doggy Butt and other players out plying their trade, so the LVPD showed it keeps its Pimp Hand Strong. Nome Sane?
HBO ran a "documentary" on this fest, called "Pimps Up, Ho's Down". It's full of unintentional laughs, if you know what I mean.
