Colin Powell misfires on Iraq:

From ABC via Reuters, Feb. 6, 2003, by Jonathan Wright:
"We can't say we're not going to do anything because it will cause us some other problems in the region. This is the problem. It's not just (U.N. disarmament resolution) 1441, it's Saddam Hussein as a threat to the region," he said.
"The region?" Oops! Big Powell forget Official Line! D'oh! Official Line be, "we are going to attack Iraq because Saddam is a potential threat to America." The reference above means Israel.
Guess ol' Colinster had a memory lapse fer jest a spell [don'tcha hate it when that happens?].

This is a pretty bad slip. But what do you expect from someone who both supports affirmative action and has benefited from it?
