Caught a report on the news that some of the towns are funding the maintenance fees for their police cars by allowing the cars to be used as billboards for ads by private businesses.
I find the possibilities arising from this to be quite entertaining.
I can imagine being pulled over by the cops who are in a car with a huge McDonald's "M" painted on it. I'd have to try to resist asking the cop if he's looking for the Hamburglar.
A Dunkin' Donuts ad would be too much.
If the Border Patrol starting taking ads for their vehicles, a Taco Bell ad could give new meaning to the slogan, "Run for the Border."
Ok, I've had enough fun with this piece of news.

Better ads on the police cars than no police in them. With all the state budget cuts lately, police services are among the first to be slashed--they're apparently less important than welfare, free mexiclinics, and midnight basketball.
However, if the recent history of the Internet has shown us anything, it's that "more ads" is not a viable solution to funding problems. :P
