Check out this old Look article based on post aquittal interviews with the killers.
Till should get the Darwin award posthumously.
Taken to the middle of nowhere Mississippi by 2 pissed off white men, one of whom is holding a .45, and repeatedly asked, practically begged, to recant so they can all go home and get some sleep, keeps saying, instead of recanting, "yeah, I f***K white women".
Oh, and he did more than whistle. Much more.

I remember this story from a Black History film that I was forced to watch in high school. The film painted Till as lily white and the white men as evil monsters. They whitewashed Till as a man asking a woman for a date rather than a black buck "looking for a whore". In those times even a white man who had approached another white man's wife or daughter like she was a whore as Till did would have gotten the same treatment, short of death. The film appealed tugged at the liberal emotional side by showing Till's beaten face, making the white men seem even more evil. I also applaud the jury on its decison, it was a victory for white womanhood.
Thanks for the article. It is nice to see the truthful side of a story for once.

In other words, like many other southern white 'Racists' he proudly helped destroy Hitler's Pan-European White Man's Army and thus ensured that NO white woman ANYWHERE would be safe from the predations of rastus niggeralis or der ewige Jude. General Nathan B. must have rolled over in his grave during that apex of southern ignominy 70 years ago. Try as I might, I find it difficult to muster any respect or wistful longing for these fine specimens of southern manhood.
But still, the condign retribution visited on that uppity niggra was heartwarming in its relation. On the other hand, the emergency dandruff surgery OJ administered to his slut of a race traitor wife and her hook nosed gigolo merits him honorary Aryan status in my book.

If it makes you feel any better, I once had similar thoughts about those wide awake bluebellies who, knowing what was best for everybody, as always, came south to "preserve their union" and unleash the savages they'd sold us. Sadly we've been remade in the image of our conquerors. All some of us can do now is try to point out where mistakes have been made.

I had not known this. Big Milam cherished the one medal esteemed the most by those who fought. I wonder how many of those who condemned him displayed even a portion of his courage in war.

I can't find this anywhere on the net, but I heard Gordon Baum say on last night's radio program that when this incident occurred the spin was that Emmitt Till was the son of a war hero who had died fighting for his country in WWII, and later it was revealed that Till's father had been executed by Gen. Mark Clark for raping and murdering an Italian girl, which, according to Gordon, caused the Till case to quickly vanish down the memory hole. Anyone else know anything about this?
