Tom Marr is a conservative talk show host who rails endlessly against illegal immigration on WOR radio (New York City). [http://www.wor710.com/tom_marr.shtml] This evening, after a silly diatribe in which he asked listeners to write to Hillary Clinton demanding that action be taken against Mexicans coming into the country, an inarticulate caller (the only kind who call or are allowed through on WOR) raised a fundamental point not mentioned by Marr. He called for reform of the perverse interpretation of law that grants US citizenship to babies born to pregnant Mexican women who slip into the country to give birth. Such anchor babies are used to bring in legally and place on welfare the entire extended famÃÂlia.
Marr cut off the caller and blustered that he would not deny the right of a pregnant woman to come to the greatest country on earth to have her baby as an American citizen.
Thus, Marr's entire anti-immigration "schtick" is a fraud on the listeners. Perhaps he is a Catholic fanatic who, like Bob Dornan, would Catholocize the US regardless of the means or consequences. Perhaps Marr's employers have allowed him a certain amount of leeway on immigration to provide an appearance of balance, but not to the point of advocating action that might be effective. Regardless of the explanation, conservatives like Marr are worse than useless.

Marr is well known to Baltimoreans. Well known but not particularly well liked.
He is an absolutely shameless shill for Israel and once declared his belief that in a fair fight Israel could defeat the US because their Air Force had better pilots.
He says this S***t with a straight face.
This pro Israel slant stands him in good stead because it keeps him working. In Baltimore he is on a tiny little 5000 watt station that some rich conservative greek owns as a tax rightoff. Baltimore has a large and influential jew population and Marr curries to them shamelessly. He also does gigs in Philly and NY in effect taking his Israel uber alle on the road.
25 years ago Marr was on little WFBR when they somwehow outbid 50K WBAL for the Orioles contract, then astonished the entire city when they allowed Marr, who was already on the payroll, to do the color on Oriole games.
He was godawful but did earn my respect when one night prior to an O's game I observed him in a very heated argument with Reggie Jackson who was then with the team.
Marr is an ex marine and although kinda portly looks like he might be a handful if he got pissed. Reggie and he were chin to chin jawing at each other.
The next day in the Sun it came out that the obnoxious Marr and the equally obnoxious Reggie had indeed had words in the locker room. Reggie had said something to the effect "if you weren't press I would kick your ass right here and now".
Marr to his credit was ready to "throw down" as the bros say and blowhard Reggie backed off big time, especially after Lee May suggested that Marr sign a release stating he was voluntarily entering into a fight and hereby resolved Reggie of all damages. Marr was ready to sign off when Reggie backed down. One gets the impression that Lee May must have been quite an instigater.
Marr is married to a Baltimore city cop and lives in Carrol County north west of the city. He is a real self promoting hustler who is riding the zio con wave as far as it will take him.
But in Baltimore the king of conservative talk is Ron Smith on WBAL. One of the best in the country. He is no admirer of Israel but is very circumspect about it. They will run you out of Baltimore and hound you wherever you seek work if you are too critical. They did it to a guy named Gene Burns 30 years ago who came back from a middle east trip shocked at the atrocities Israel was committing and devoted a show to them. In the middle of the show Jack Luskin, one of his jew sponsors, barged into the booth and a shouting match ensued on air. Burns disappeared and was never heard from again in this town. He then tried to get work in Richmond and found out he had been blacklisted.
All Baltimore talk show hosts know about Gene Burns, a brilliant man BTW.
And nobody wants to get the same treatment.

Tom Marr used to fill in for Bob Grant at WOR when I used to listen to Grant (haven't since last year). Is Marr a permanent host at WOR these days??
I remember Marr for being extremely Zionist. Now I wonder if they only say the things they do only to please their Chosenite bosses.
I am not surprised by Marr's hypocrisy when it comes to Mestizo fetuses being born in America so they can become automatic citizens, and justifying it by railing about America being the "greatest country in the world", something to that effect. Grant used to utter that line all the time. These conservatives have their heads in the sand. If America is the "greatest country in the world", then why do they spend most of their time criticizing persons, places, and things in the country itself??

Some years ago Tom Marr hosted a Saturday night talk program in Philadelphia. He lambasted Bill Clinton for being a draft-dodger, and his faithful were regular in calling to congratulate him for his courage.> **Marr is well known to Baltimoreans. Well known but not particularly well liked.

Marr eventually admitted he joined the reserves (Marines) during the war in Vietnam and maintained he was on deck if needed. He would cut off callers who asked why he did not volunteer for Vietnam service. Yet he was such an obnoxious loud-mouth his show did have entertaining qualities.
