Congo rebels are eating pygmies, UN says
International Politics The Guardian (UK) 9 January 2003
Marauding rebels are massacring and eating pygmies in the dense forests of north-east Congo, according to UN officials who are investigating allegations of cannibalism in Ituri province, where fighting between several rebel groups has displaced about 150,000 people in the past month.
Many of the displaced tell of rebel fighters capturing and butchering pygmies, Manoddje Mounoubai, spokesman for the UN ceasefire monitoring mission in Congo, said yesterday...
Congo rebels are eating pygmies, UN says The UN had sent six officials to investigate the accusation as well as other human rights abuses, he said.
Other UN officials in the capital, Kinshasa, and the eastern city of Goma said that widespread cannibalism had already been established.
"Ituri is completely out of control and cannibalism is just the latest atrocity taking place," said one, who asked not to be named until the investigators deliver their report. "Perhaps this will finally alert the world to what's going on."
Ituri's forest-dwelling pygmy tribes have been caught be tween opposing groups supporting the government and Ugandan-backed rebel groups in the last battles of Congo's four-year civil war.
The two Ugandan-backed movements routinely enslave pygmies to forage for forest food and prospect for minerals, a UN official said.
Hunters returning empty-handed were killed and eaten.
Sudi Alimasi, an official of the pro-government group Rally for Congolese Democracy-ML, said it had begun receiving reports of cannibalism from people displaced by fighting more than a week ago.
"We hear reports of [enemy] commanders feeding on sexual organs of pygmies, apparently believing this would give them strength," he said.
"We also have reports of pygmies being forced to feed on the cooked remains of their colleagues."
Cannibalism has re-emerged throughout eastern Congo as the last vestiges of colonial influence have been eroded during the war. Much of the vast forested area is controlled by the Mayi-Mayi, a loose grouping of tribal militias united by their magical beliefs and taste for human flesh.
On a recent assignment in eastern Congo the Guardian correspondent saw many Mayi-Mayi fighters wearing parts of the bodies of their Rwandan enemies, in the belief that this would make them invincible.
"We are hearing reports of untold horrors in Ituri," said Wyger Wentholt, of Médecins sans Frontières.

Should read - "Last vestiges of White influence".
When America experiences an economic breakdown, the white aid to Africa will end. At that point I expect that the whole continent will devolve into savagery and cannibalism. Soon thereafter the population of Africa will revert to that of pre-colonialism. The forces of disease, war and starvation will decimate the continent.

Tex, any chance we could rename this section "Muti & Cannibalism"?
After all, "Foreign Affairs" is a bit genteel to describe the African news items posted here, most of which involve a guy with a grass skirt, a nose bone, and a derby hat two sizes two small for him shaking a juju stick at a white man simmering in a cookpot.

Ten years ago my daughter in law was attending U of Delaware and her sorority in conjunction with some bash they were planning had Tee shirts printed up with drawings of a man in a boiling kettle surrounded by natives.
Well, they were almost thrown off campus and had to apologize to the BSU plus undergo re education at the hands of the self same BSU.
The fat ho wit attitude who was in charge of thesse middle class white girl's re education opened her remarks with the statement "I don't like white people".
It's a great country, ain't it?

Of course, we are told by the controlled media that bringing such people into America will "strength" our communities with much needed "diversity". And we should think nothing of the fact that the same person who just months ago was engaging in cannibalism is now perfectly fit to act as a proper citizen complete with a vote. We are told that there really is no difference between a Thomas Jefferson and a naked cannibal.
And then when the same cannibals engage in rape and murder in the USA, the people in control of the media feign utter shock! The usual explanation offered in that "white racism" caused them to kill and that importing more cannibals is the solution!
Remember - "Diversity is STRENGTH". (Isn't that now our national motto?)

I'm so sorry, sir, we just served out last bottle of grape nehi.
This happens every week when we feature our AYCE Pigmy Special.
May I recommend an excellent Orange Tip Top cola from our cellar.

We should just be thankful this report made it onto the news wires at all.
With the UN being so busy exploring the "human rights" abuses occuring along the US-Mexico border it no wonder they don't have time for a trifiling bit of "who-ate-John" or Junta as the case may be.

Pygmies; They're not just for breakfast anymore.
I'll bet you can't eat just one!

Cannibal soldiers 'sprinkled salt on six-year-old's flesh'
A Congolese pygmy has told how cannibal rebel soldiers sprinkled salt on his nephew's flesh before eating him.
Amuzati Nzoli says he watched from bushes outside his forest camp as Congolese Liberation Movement soldiers ate his 6-year-old nephew Kebe Musika.
Jean-Pierre Bemba, the leader of the Congolese Liberation Movement, says he is "shocked" by reports his troops ate people .
Human rights activists and investigators from the United Nations say rebels cooked and ate at least a dozen Pygmies and an undetermined number of people from other tribes during recent fighting with rival insurgents.
Mr Nzoli says he can't say exactly when the rebels invaded his forest camp but he remembers what he saw.
The rebels are said to have slaughtered the dozen people they found at the camp. Mr Nzoli, who had been hunting, says he arrived during the attack and hid.
He claims rebel fighters butchered the six-year-old and roasted his body parts over an open fire.
"They even sprinkled salt on the flesh as they ate, as if cannibalism was all very natural to them," Mr Nzoli said. He says he fled as the rebels were eating his nephew and can't say what happened to the bodies of the others.
