Muslim immigrants riot in Antwerp Depot! Deport! Deport them all!
ANTWERP, Belgium (Reuters) - Muslim immigrants, Orthodox Jews and Dutch-speaking Belgians may rub shoulders in Antwerp, but the ethnic mix of this port city, a stronghold of the Belgian far-right, is becoming increasingly volatile. For months, a Lebanese-born Belgian has been whipping up tensions by organizing pro-Palestinian protests and monitoring police for alleged racist behavior. He has been accused of inciting riots in Antwerp in November. Dyab Abou Jahjah gained hero status among some of Antwerp's 30,000 Muslims, notably the young, when he was briefly arrested last month for allegedly fueling the riots after the murder of a Muslim teacher by a white Belgian man. They smashed windows, wrecked cars and stoned police. A number were arrested.
