**I am all for Clonning but this is odd? The Raelian cult.

I did know about these guys already

They used to use a swastika inside a star of David as their symbol?**

DRESSED from head to toe in figure-hugging black, baby-clone doctor Brigitte Boisselier strutted between 17 nervous ?initiates' to her Raelian cult.

The ten men and seven women gathered at a remote farmhouse on the 2,000-acre estate of Sir Richard Glyn near Wimborne in Dorset.

And by the flickering light of candles and the booming sound of whale song, the prospective converts to the Raelian movement, in which Brigitte is a ?bishop', were coaxed into sharing and exploring their darkest fantasies.

This is the same woman who, on Friday afternoon, made the shattering announcement that her Clonaid operation, a medical offshoot set up by the Raelian cult, was responsible for the birth of the world's first cloned baby. She said a 7lb girl named Eve was delivered on Boxing Day morning.

Again, she was dressed in black, right down to her ribbed tights.

If her claims are verified, reputable scientists say it will open a Pandora's Box of mutant horrors and designer children.

The Raelians, led by Brigitte's svengali Claude Vorhilon, believe alien experimenters created the human race 25,000 years ago using DNA technology. The cult preaches the power of group sex and asks for up to 10 per cent of members' earnings after tax to help build an ?alien embassy'.

Flushed

At the Glyn estate Brigitte took huge delight in listening to her flock describe their sexual urges.

First she led a meditation session, ordering novices?including an undercover News of the World reporter?to lie on the ground, eyes shut. Walking between the bodies she intoned: "Imagine your souls are contained in balls of energy...now imagine that ball moving upwards and then through space."

Soon afterwards came a separate ?sex energy' lesson in one of Sir Richard Glynn's barn lofts. The landowner is not a member of the sect but allows his estate to be used by them.

In the loft each member was told to write down his or her most intimate fantasies. A woman in her twenties was picked by one of Brigitte's aides to read out hers first.

Caught between obeying her instructions and deep embarrassment, she obeyed falteringly, flushing a deep red: "I imagine myself being dominated. Not by one man, but by three or four at the same time...one by one they take me...I am naked and submissive."

Brigitte never took her eyes off the woman. The rest of the group squirmed, knowing their ordeal would come.

The £120 course in May 1997 was jointly run by Brigitte and Swiss-born Gerard Jeandupeux.

Gerard leered at our reporter: "It's a shame there aren't more women here. You can't have fun with just a handful." He added later: "If you feel like having a sensual or sexual experience with one or several others, whatever sex, do what you want as long as they agree." Gerard also told our man he could be invited to a bizarre cross-dressing ball in Switzerland. "Men dress as women and wear stuffed bras, and the women dress as men and wear moustaches and play the man role," he said.

"Women are expected to proposition the men and initiate having sex with them."

Brigitte's Raelian master, Claude Vorhilon, insists he met an alien called Yaweh Elohim on an extinct volcano in 1973.

The being, which was apparently olive-skinned and had a wispy beard, gave Claude the name Rael, meaning messenger. He was given a mission to prepare for the aliens' return to Earth, with a deadline of 2035.

His cult, which has an annual turnover of around £5million, now claims 1,000 members in Britain and 55,000 wordwide. Vorhilon himself is a multi-millionaire with a passion for motor racing. In a copy of his book, Extra Terrestrials Took Me To Their Planet, that we obtained at the time, Vorhilon says: "Children should be taught to have sex purely for pleasure without any emotional commitment to the sexual partner."

He adds: "Women particularly should have sex with one or more individuals of either sex as long as those individuals agree, since contraception has freed women from fear of pregnancy...

Threesomes

"Sect members should, at the same time encourage those they love to seek sexual gratification with others. Sect members should also continue to sexually gratify a loved one who does not oppose them having sex with others.

"Sect members should also not reject but have sex with another person if that person wants to gratify them sexually.

"Sect members can have heterosexual, homosexual and bisexual sex in couples, threesomes, foursomes and ?moresomes'." The sect's HQ in Canada is called UFOland?complete with a replica of the flying saucer Vorhilon insists he saw.

Raelians flock to the site for ?free love' orgies. In 1992, hundreds more devotees gathered in a field in rural France.

Cloning scientist Brigitte announced on Friday that the Raelians' first cloned baby, Eve, was delivered by Caesarean section at 11.55am on December 26. The mother is said to be a 31-year-old American.

US offshoot company Clonaid apparently began human cloning last spring with 10 implants, five of which were "terminated spontan-eously", French-born Brigitte claims.

She told a Miami press conference: "Five others were successful and are still successful...the next one is due in Europe next week so it's very close and the three others will be born by the end of January, maybe early February."

In his book, Vorhilon suggests that a huge bank of members' DNA is being built up. He urges Raelians to "arrange that on their death, one square centimetre precisely of the bone from their forehead, 33 millimetres above the middle axis between their pupils, is sent to the (Raelian) Embassy for re-creation purposes."

Cloning babies involves making an exact replica of the mother by taking DNA from one cell, implanting it in a ?hollowed-out' egg and bombarding it with chemicals and electricity. No male sperm is involved.

Evidence

The procedure is illegal in Britain, Western Europe and the US, but there are around 170 nations where it is not banned.

Brigitte provided no hard evidence of the clone-birth, insisting that independent evidence would be provided after the baby emerged from hospital in three days.

Many scientists are sceptical, but British expert Dr Patrick Dixon said that if it is the case: "2003 will go down as the Year of the Clone?when humankind realised that science is running out of control."

Raelian Religion's use of Star of David with the Swastika symbol inside it

There have also been continual concerns about the official symbol of the Raelian Religion, the symbol of the Star of David with the Swastika symbol inside it. The Raelians have explained that its symbolic value is quite different from that of Nazism, representing infinity. However, to many in the "post Nazi western culture it represents something else" (John Hughes, Sun-Sentinel [Miami], December 20, 1989, p. E1).

Over the years, the Raelian Religion has specifically tried to convert Jews and establish the Elohim embassy in Jerusalem. Since the "Raelians believe that the ancient Israelites had a special covenant with Earth's creator" and since they "believe that the destruction of the world is near," the Raelians also believe that "the state of Israel must grant Raelians land in Jerusalem on which to build an embassy to welcome the aliens" (Gazette, p. A4). However, given that the Swastika has been so offensive to Jews specifically, and that Jews have claim to their own special relationship with the Creator, these stated goals of the Raelian Religion have also drawn fire.

The Raelian Religion has not been unaware or unconcerned about public relations problems. In 1991, "Rael decided to change the symbol of the Raelian Religion and replace the swastika with a galaxy..." http://www.rael.org/English/e-digest/raelmsgZA.html. This was done, not only "out of respect for victims of the Nazi holocaust," but also for a very practical reason ? to "facilitate the building of the Embassy in Israel?" (Ibid.). Perhaps feeling the pressure of controversy and scrutiny, the Raelian Religion in 1992 joined forces and became publicly associated with other reputed cults in establishing the International Federation of Religious and Philosophical Minorities (abbreviated as "Firephim" in French). Firephim became a consortium of minority religions organized to fight "religious persecution." Besides the Raelians, participant organizations included such controversial movements as the Church of Scientology, the Unification Church, Jehovah's Witnesses, and Satanists, among others (Wellspring Messenger, July/August 1994, p. 2).

Response to Campbell's 3/11 Report on Rael

Mr. Campbell writes: "the symbol used by the group was a swastika inside a Star of David -- the obvious source of some controversy. According to Rael interviewed on the program, the symbol was meant to represent the group's all-inclusive love." - The swastika symbol is several thousand year old and can actually be found in old Jewish scriptures. Hitler did not invent this symbol, he simply via his deeds brought severe negative connotations to the swastika. The swastika in the Raelian (Elohim) symbol represents 'infinity in time'.

Later Mr. Campbell writes:"- All communication between Rael and the Elohim was verbal (not psychic). I asked Rael about this twice to be sure: All communication Rael has had with Elohim was in-person verbal communication. (I didn't ask what language the communication took place in....)". Somewhat later on the topic of the symbol and the change of the swastika to the spiral in the new Raelian symbol Mr. Cambell continues: "According to an insert in Rael's book, the new symbol "has been in effect since the beginning of April 1992" -- which I note is the same time as the "Now It Can Be Told" Report. The swastika in the middle of the Star of David has become stylized so that it is not longer recognizable as a swastika. The change was made "with the Elohim's consent," which is strange, since Rael claims no contact with them since 1975.

Rael Defends Our Right To Clone

Our pal, Rael, ex-auto reporter, cloning activist, and leader of the world's preferred alien free-love masturbation religious movement, the Raelians, has made a spirited strike in defense of a human being's right to clone another human being. Soon the world will be filled with spaced-out Raelians. Cool.

According to an article by Jan Cienski in the March 29 National Post, Rael showed up last Wednesday to address a congressional committee looking into whether the cloning of human beings should be allowed within U.S. borders. Dressed in an all-white outfit with shoulder pads and white patent leather shoes, Rael stood in front of the committee and made the following declaration in defense of clones:

"Nothing should stop cloning, which should be 100% free".

Dolly the Sheep couldn?t have said it better herself.

The Raelians?for those of you who may be unfamiliar with the religion?are a 50,000 member strong, Quebec-based group founded by Rael (formerly known as Claude Vorilhon), after he was visited by extra-terrestrials on December 13, 1973. Among the various Raelian beliefs is the strong conviction that cloning should not be illegal because all human beings were originally cloned from a master race of extra-terrestrials known as the Elohim. In 1997, the Raelians established Cloniad, a clone factory somewhere in the Bahamas, where they have already started cranking out clone replacements of deceased children for bereaved parents who can afford the US $500,000 price tag.

The story of Rael?s magic initial encounter with the Elohim is recorded in the book that has become a Raelian Bible of-sorts, The Message Given To Me By Extra-Terrestrials. As the story goes, Rael was hiking around the volcano just minding his own business, when a UFO with flashing red and white lights suddenly appeared hovering several meters above the ground. The craft descended to earth, and a child-sized Elohim sporting a green suit (emblazoned with an emblem which consisted of a swastika within a Star of David) stepped out and ordered Rael to spread a message of love, peace and fraternity to all humanity and (while he?s at it) to raise $20 million to build an Elohim embassy in Jerusalem.

Thus, Raelianism was begun. If you visit the Robson side of the Vancouver Art Gallery on a sunny Saturday, you might spot a couple of Raelians selling Rael?s book and displaying a miniature model of what the Jerusalem Elohim Embassy will look like once they manage to scrape up $20 million. You may very well feel moved to join the Raelians yourself. One of the best reasons to sign up is the free love and the group masturbation, a practice that the Raelians describe with the priceless euphemism "sensual meditation".

"Oh, yeah, Ma, I?ll be down in a minute? I was just doing some sensual meditating?" I don?t know about you, but participating in an Elohim circle jerk with a bunch of robed clone-lovers sounds like a lot more fun to me than sitting through any of the many (equally weird, though) mind-numbingly boring ceremonies that are performed every Sunday in the various houses of worship around the Lower Mainland. The Raelians might be freaky, but at least they know how to party.

Here's a thread with more info on the Raelians:

History of The Raelians

Check out the bizarre links. http://www.therefinersfire.org/raelians.htm A red-heiferite emails Israeli Raelians.

Quote from "Rael"

"In a sense, all Raelians are Jews," says Rael. "The Raelians have a particular interest in Israel because our goal is to rebuild the third temple," in the form of a government-sanctioned embassy for extraterrestrials. "It says in the Bible that whoever devotes themselves to the building of the third temple is a real Jew. So we are therefore more Jewish than most born Jews." The Raelians have the means to begin building, but are waiting for Israel to legitimize their request. If Israel doesn't cooperate by 2035, Rael teaches that the Elohim will stop protecting Israel from its surrounding neighbors. And if a more alien-friendly country agrees to build the embassy at any time before then, Israel's extraterrestrial-spiritual protection will be lifted.

Rael had Jewish ties before his encounter with the Elohim. "My mother had thought that her Jewish boyfriend had impregnated her, and that he was my father," he says. His family welcomed the new explanation. "When I told my mother and grandmother the true story, my grandmother was relieved because she said that she had seen UFOs lingering around the house over the years and had never told anyone."

Another bizarre Raelian activity....they want to clone Adolf Hitler and try the clone for "war crimes"

*Cloneaid is linked to the cult, who believe cloning is the route to mankind's salvation. Boisselier is a Raelian `bishop'.

It was also revealed last night the Raelian cult want to clone Adolf Hitler - and put his double on trial for war crimes.

Scientists for the sect, which believes all life is derived from aliens from space, approached a Moscow archive which holds the only remains of the Nazi dictator to obtain samples. *

The "Raelians" are yet another authoritarian group or movement with a Jewish founder and leader.Dr.MacDonald would have a field day describing this character. http://www.villagevoice.com/issues/0135/segall1.php Some enlightening quotes about "Rael",their leader: "He is a devout athiest with a messiah complex and a Jewish identity" "Most Raelians take their leader very seriously...rarely deviating from his advice" "Rael advises not having children until you're totally self-satisfied"
