"Delighted Democrats Sharpen Anti-white Agenda" (What a Title!) Newsmax

Whatever happens to Sen. Trent Lott, overjoyed Democrats are eagerly preparing to exploit the controversy (which they and their media allies manufactured) by unleashing a partisan anti-white agenda.

To win back the black support they lost in last month's elections, Democrats plan to put the GOP on the spot by demanding:

* new racial preferences and quotas that discriminate against white people, especially in college admissions.

* a new, stricter "hate crimes" bill, ignoring the equal protection called for by the U.S. Constitution.

* tax "cuts" that favor poor people who already don't pay taxes instead of people who actually do pay taxes.

* legislation to undercut the death penalty.

* even more billions of dollars squandered on "AIDS funding, especially for Africa," the Associated Press reported today, though it's no mystery how AIDS is spread and can be avoided.

"Actions speak louder than words, and the Republican Party is going to have to show that it cares about these issues through the legislation they support and the legislation they allow to pass," said Ranit Schmelzer, spokesman for Senate Minority Leader Tom Daschle, D-S.D.

"Trent Lott is the cue stick by which we engage in our game of billiards," said the Rev. Joseph Lowery, president of Black Leadership Council.

Lott, who has a history of caving in to Democrats at the expense of his own party, has eagerly been signaling his willingness to pander in order to save his skin.

Using the euphemism "affirmative action," Democrat code words for anti-white discrimination, Lott told ABC on Tuesday, "I do feel that affirmative action is necessary and essential as we try to bring people of all backgrounds, religions and races into the mainstream in America to have opportunity."

'Every Aspect of Our Lives'

Rep. Elijah Cummings, D-Md., a leader in the Congressional Black Caucus, said, "I think it would be good to have a leader who now believes in affirmative action and will take steps to make sure that affirmative action programs are implemented in every aspect of our lives."

AP quoted a Democrat congressman as saying he "relished the idea of Lott staying as Senate majority leader or even as just a senator" because the uproar opened the door for all kinds of Democrat legislation.

A Democrat aide told AP that whatever happens to Lott, Democrats would shove "his gaffe into Republicans' faces all year long in Congress, at the Justice Department and even at the White House." The aide tee-heed, "All issues are going to be looked at through the 'Lott lens.'"

Of course, the Democrats' anti-white agenda could backfire and end up driving moderate voters away as the party moves even further to the left. But with many people expressing disgust at the Republicans' gutlessness, it might be the Libertarians and other parties that gain.

I've read WorldNetDaily, would Newsmax be closer/further from the mainstream/republican?

A breathtaking headline, nonetheless.

Maybe Lott shall not have flummoxed in vain..........

naBaron,

For the most part the Newsmax site is Neocon. As of late Newsmax has been very mainstream GOP, but they have attacked Jorge Bush some in past and are sometimes still tell the truth about him. They seem to be anti-Open Borders. I sometimes think Newsmax may have a few Paleocons in it's ranks.

I find the title of this Article most odd. I wonder if they will take it down or change the title. Let us see...

Good find. The title alone is good news. Like naBaron I don't really know precisely where NewsMax is located on the political spectrum, but I wouldn't have expected to see this title based on the little I know about the site.
