Feds to Join War Against Out-Of-Control L.A. Gangs Mon Dec 16, 8:28 PM ET
LOS ANGELES (Reuters) - Federal authorities, answering a call from Los Angeles Police Chief William Bratton to help fight violent street gangs, pledged on Monday to commit more officers, agents and resources to that battle.
Debra Yang, U.S. Attorney for three southern California counties, emerged from a meeting with Bratton and Los Angeles Mayor James Hahn to tell reporters that her office would use federal laws to crack down on out-of-control gang members.
"Gang violence today is the worst it's been for some time," Yang said. "These random acts of violence and senseless killings have threatened the very way that many citizens live their lives and have taken away their ability to feel safe and secure in their own homes."
Bratton earlier this month called Los Angeles' notorious street gangs a "threat to national security" and pleaded for federal help in crushing the crime organizations, which he likened to the Mafia.
"Your gang situation in this city is unlike anything else in America," Bratton, a former New York Police Commissioner who been on the job in Los Angeles for less than two months. "It will devour this city. It scares the hell out of me how sophisticated, how entrenched they are. The federal government better recognize that and put the same resources into fighting this that they did with the (Mafia) crime families."
Officials from the FBI (news - web sites), Drug Enforcement Administration and Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms all said they would contribute resources to the fight against gangs in Los Angeles, where the police department is badly undermanned and still reeling from years of scandal.
"We are not going to surrender one inch of turf to the gangs," Hahn told the press conference. "The streets of Los Angeles belong to the law-abiding citizens."
City leaders also plan to redeploy the department's 9,000 officers to the most crime-ridden areas and focus on a group of recently released parolees who hit the streets in the past 18 months eager to reassert their authority.
The LAPD (news - web sites)'s gang enforcement units, known as CRASH, were yanked off the streets after revelations in 1999 that some CRASH officers engaged in drug dealing, framing and even shooting suspects and planting guns on them.

Dogpiling on the Mafia was easy. White guys, and white goys besides. All they needed to do was wait until the Mafia was too fragmented, too fraught with attrition to be worthwhile business partners with govt any longer. This is why a million Russian-Jew mafioso were imported into the East Coast in the early 90s. Business as usual goes on, plus the public gets a pretend law & order show to gape at as the old partners get publicly discarded.
But dismantling the LA gangs - or the new Jewish mafia - is going to prove a damn sight harder. 400 years of slavery and the Holocaust, don't you know. Now we get to see an entirely different sort of show: the Feds & cops tiptoeing on little cat feet while media loudmouths, hiding behind 'fairness', Mumia-fy the country's most violent predators into the new cause celebre.

This all sounds of a pieice with "Civil War II" by Thomas Chittum.
Chittum predicted that the street gangs would slowly evolve into organized military forces, complete with standardized weapons, well-defined chains of command, and even political fronts. We may be seeing this now in LA.

Absolutely, and California has set the stage beautifully by confiscating "assault weapons" and denying CCW's to all but celeb's for the last 50 years. Truly in CA virtually only criminals have guns.

It'd be interesting to see if the gangs could get enough "troops" together to simultaneously knock over a bunch of Nat'l Guard armories and steal the weapons prior to touching off statewide riots. They could just wait for the next Rodney King-like or illegal immigrant-beating "outrage." How many Guard armories are there in California, anyway?
Call up the Guard and arm them with what? It's all been stolen, and as jeffersonian said, you can't let the peons keep their ordnance at home.
Mex gangs might have the discipline to pull this off. Black gangs, probably not, especially since they're not going to be disciplined at all (what was that joke about the white girl and the basketball?) and heavily outnumbered by the mex's.
I've got to get this tinfoil thing off, it's starting to itch. :D

I gather that the recently rise in gang violence is essentially the result of the race war heating up: Mestizos vs. Congoids. The blacks are being displaced, and they're none too happy about it. The Latino gangs are becoming a real problem because the Mexico City-LA axis allows them to cycle personnel back and forth, and because they have access to the suppliers of drugs in the rest of Latin America.

Heh. Looks like the Mexes have logistics on their side as far as reinforcements go. They've got not only the subsidized cradle of the welfare state to help hatch new Pancho Villas, but the surplus poop-ulation of a nearby neighbor that's positively brimming with enthusiasm to come here and take part in the American Garage Sale (formerly known as the American Dream).
The blacks only have the subsidized cradle, and given California's budget woes, the gruel therefrom may be getting a little more watery from here on out.

I would not be surprised if they did not already have a network of la razans who filch weapons on a regular basis and stash it at secret weapons caches.
I read somewhere that the pentagon "loses" a billion dollars worth of ordinance every year.

Hey, the article did not say these gangs are composed of Blacks or Mexicans! I bet these gangs are composed of blond, blue eyed Germans terrorizing the city! I have watched plenty of made for TV movies, so I know that the threat to tranquility always comes from those white people. I just feel sorry for all the people of color that have to live in constant fear of these white street gangs.
Most likely this article refers to neo-Nazi groups prowling LA. And I also have learned from watching the movies that it always takes a smart Black detective to foil these types of gangsters.
At the very least, I am sure that these gangs celebrate diversity. I would imagine that each gang has the proper mix of Asians, African-Americans, Whites, Hispanics and Native Americans. I also assume that lesbian women have key leadership roles in these gangs. (There is strength in diversity after all).

The mex's aren't organized enough to pull of something like an armory robbery, yet. One thing I can tell you from living right in here in LA, and going to school with these border monkeys: Too much infighting. Maybe they will get together at some point, some event will make them line up as one, but right now, they spend as much time shooting at each other as they do shooting at the nigs. As for the nigs, same story, slightly more disorganization.
The "Mexican Mafia" is somewhat of a joke, in terms of disorganization. Their idiocy is what has led so much of their "top brass" to be tossed into prison the last couple of years. However, prison helps with their organization, as they mex's do band together for the most part to keep the boolies at bay. The blacks are victimized in high numbers by the more organized mestizos in the prisons (what comes around, goes around, eh Leroy?).
Oh, the riots and fighting will hit, but it will likely be touched off by something similar to the Rodney King fiasco rather than any organized effort. **If it is organized, it will have been organized by outside influences, B'nai B'rith, JDL or ACLU anyone? **
I'm with Walter, bring it on! The collapse has to start in earnest somewhere, and I may as well get a bird's eye view. I don't have a yellow streak down my back that would allow me to run.
"Russian Mob". I don't know whether to laugh or throw up every time I hear that term. Interesting side note, while jews claim that getting tattoos is against their "religion" or culture, many young "Russian" mobsters have the Star of David tattooed on one of their pecs. That's what several LA County Sheriff's deputies have told me. Showing off their pride just like the tattooed riddled mestizos, although not so openly, as those chest tattoos don't show when wearing a shirt.

I'm also reckoning that the trouble will start out there as well, simply because you have a nice, explosive ethnic mix combined with an ever-shriveling State tit and an ever increasing tax and social burden on the remaining producers. After all, the less there is, the harder you've got to shove Pedro out of the way so Shaniqua and her brood can waddle up the line for free housing. When Pedro and his brood shove back, you know it's getting interesting.
Given the sensitivity out there, I was actually surprised there wasn't a riot when the cop slammed that kid against his cruiser hood at the gas-n-gulp and smacked him around a few months back. I guess the welfare checks had come in that day or something.
I'm also wondering if the next riot will spill over into more affluent areas. Weren't the LA riots confined to rather poor areas? It'll be interesting to see if they get tired of robbing Radio Shack and want to step up to The Sharper Image! Of course, that would entail walking more than a few blocks, so probably not.
I'm not sure, but I think the ACLU, ADL and SPLC's organizing days for "minorities" is just about over. Seems that a calculation has been made to toss the darkies overboard and court the Christian right. Oh well, c'est la vie, Shaniqua. You served your purpose.

So, the Feds are going to help California fight their local crime problem. California is also running many billions of dollars in the red, so on top of fighting crime eventually the feds are going to have to start bailing California out of debt. And, you thought Israel got a lot of our tax money.
And, there's no desire of the majority in power to stop the spiral of California (and eventually all of America) into a 3rd-world status. For right now, we've got plenty of billions of dollars to throw around the globe.
