Not that this is an important topic, but I took a few minutes to check out VNN, haven't taken a look at the site in a while, as Linder's heart is in the right place, but sometimes I think he scares off potential "recruits". I noticed that the site is going with a more professional look, etc., with the beta version of the new look up for viewing. However, the real grabber was a few of the new cartoons, two of them asking for "holiday" donations for blacks and mexicans, and one a play on the old Charles Atlas ad (the guy at the beach getting sand kicked in his face) with a white guy and his girlfriend attacked at a multi-culti get together. I swear, one of the cartoons had a signature on the side that said "rban" along with the "syndication" company's name. Maybe I'm wrong, but maybe the cartoons were done by someone that reads OD or even posts here, and they're getting a jab or two in for the hell of it. At least the work was a bit better than what I was used to seeing at VNN. Now if Linder could tone down a bit, and try to bring awaken more people in the fashion suggested in the beach cartoon, things would probably take off for his site.

Finally...an opportunity to say something bad about VNN!
I hate, and have always hated, the cartoons. In the first place you shouldn't ever run cartoons by people with no drawing or cartooning talent. In the second place it's not as though the humor is stinging, barbed, clever, etc. It's meat cleaver stuff provided by people bereft of any artistic ability. Forget about scaring off the newbies...they scare me off, and I'm a Fips fan from way back!
No point in retorting, "Well, VNN can only run the best of what they get from the readers"......in that case, don't run any. Wait until you get submissions of quality, Alex.
PS....'rban' a VNN contributor? Our 'rban'? The mind reels!

Il Rag, take a look at the beach cartoon. I swear it looks like a cartoonist trying to reel in his talent, like he's trying to hide his style. The guy can obviously draw. But that signature on one of them, I'd bet it's an OD reader. Then again, with this torrent about VNN's cartoons, the new cartoonist isn't you, Il Rag, is it? Just kidding.

You're right, there doesn't seem to be a whole lot of subtlety or humor, rather they seem to be simply rants with pictures. They superficially remind me of the illustrations at Tom Metzger's site.
The beach one reminds me of a Jack Chick tract. You know, those religious little cartoon books you find littering the parking lot of a WalMart.

Those ultra-lame, corny-ass cartoons at VNN are just some of the reasons why a lot of people are so turned off by them. If you're gonna express your views through art, it should be done with some style and finese; not by someone who obviously has the artistic talent of a five-year-old.
Now If I were in charge at VNN, I would either get someone who can actually draw or forget about the cartoons altogether.

Out of curiosity, I took a look at the "cartoons". There is one posted at the top of the site, it's really a commentary with a drawing of a black and mestizo thug staring at the reader. The guy who did this picture can obviously draw. http://www.vanguardnewsnetwork.com/decembe...cartoons110.htm The thugs look just like the guys on the LAPD's Most Wanted website. I guess Linder found a couple of guys who can draw, because the pictures in the beach cartoon are no worse than most Sunday Paper cartoons. I agree with RB, the beach cartoon is a play on the old Charles Atlas ad, "The Insult That Made a Man Out of Mac" that graced many a Marvel and DC comic for decades.
In the end, the pictures are OK, the cartoons are a little wordy.
I agree with Il Ragno, don't run them if the contributor has NO artistic ability ... Then again, "The Far Side" could be very funny, and the art was ... terrible. But it fit the humor. I also have to say that RB is probably right, in that Linder's in your face (albeit funny) prose aimed at hymie probably turns off those who are overly sensitive to anything negative to jews - due to years of brainwashing. But I think white nationalists need the shotgun approach, instead of seeking new blood like snipers hunting down their targets.
Rban? No way did he do any of these cartoons. Anathema to the old ... well, towelhead covers it either way, eh?
It is possible it's some OD guy though.

I'm no people relations expert (as you all probably know), but I do know if you're trying to educate your friends (as the cartoons are asking for) then you shouldn't be doing it in the way those cartoons do it.
1) Make the cartoon funny or don't make it at all. Those cartoons just sound bitter (although, I understand that).
2) Don't try to get others to change their whole worldview at once. Start with just one issue as they accept that then move on.

I think that was the point of the "beach" story/cartoon. They're getting better over there. Linder needs to take a tack that will be more conducive to winning over the sheeple, but I don't think that's on his radar. Hell, maybe he's doing the cartoons.

The new "series" posted about the hard working mexican immigrant seems realistic, and funny, based on what I see in Los Angeles every day. The Stan Lee and Jack Kirby reference is amusing.

The guy who did this one must live in the Southwest or Chicago.
