Russia Welcomes Inspection of Israeli Weapons Sites
TEHRAN TIMES POLITICAL DESK TEHRAN - Russian Ambassador to Iran, Alexadner Maryasov, announced his government tacit agreement with the inspection of Israeli weapons sites.
Talking to the IRIB on Saturday night, Maryasov said if the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) and the international community decide to inspect Israeli weapons sites it should be carried out without any delay.
The Russian ambassador's comments followed a statement by the IAEA Chief Mohamed Elbaradei who said the inspection of the Israeli weapons sites will come after the task on Iraq is over.
Elsewhere in his talks the ambassador said U.S. pressure will not affect Tehran-Moscow ties. He said there is no convincing evidence that nuclear cooperation between Russia and Iran is in violation of international conventions.
The ambassador also stressed his country's commitment for carrying out projects in the Bushehr Nuclear Power Plant.
