I just heard on CNBC that the combined value of exports (I believe non-oil) for the 22 Arab nations is less than that of Finland.
The GDP of all 22 Arab nations is rougly equivalent to Spain.
The economic growth in the 1990s of the Arab world was less than that of sub-Saharan Africa. (please read again).
Unemployment in Iraq: 50%. Jordan & Syria: 30%.
Half of Arab women can't read or write.
PUH-Thetic!!!! Well, at least they're a peaceful people.

Richard Lynn and Tatu Vanhanen's "IQ and the Wealth of Nations" predicts this (I haven't read it yet, this is based on a couple book reviews I've read). It's even worse for sub-Saharan Africa - there all the black African countries (except South Africa) have a combined GDP smaller than that of Belgium.
It makes sense. Arabs are coloured people - a mixture of African and various Semitic bloodlines. Look at the faces of the Iraqi crowds - their African ancestry is obvious.
Islam accepts no racial distinctions, at least officially, and this lowering of the racial boundaries lead to the entry of large amounts of low-IQ African genes into the Arab gene pool. As a result, the Arabs have a mean IQ of about 90, if memory serves. If this is so, then clearly the Arabs will have a hard time under their own steam moving beyond the civilizational equilibrium level they reached, say, 100 years ago; i.e. before the white Europeans injected vast amounts of their capital and know-how in exchange for access to the sea of oil upon which they had pitched their tents.
When we finally move on to non-petroleum energy sources and stop pumping massive amounts of financial and intellectual capital into the Levant, the Arabs will slowly drift back down to that equilibrium level. It will be a repeat of the experience of de-colonized sub-Saharan Africa, although thankfully the Arabs have a much higher mean IQ than the Africans and will not fall nearly as far as the "liberated" Congolese.
While I wish them nothing but the best, their own tragic dysgenic history should serve as a warning to us all.

Jay, whats more its one of the few parts of the world where the birthrate isn't decreasing. Trouble ahead for sure.

Most Arabs have very little Negro blood. This is sort of a myth. They are a mixture of various cacausian and central asian ethnic groups. The Arabs did amount to a lot more hundreds of years ago when they were "more white."

If you do IQ analysis of Islamic whites (Albanians, Chechnya) you will find similar numbers. It is really quite simple: Islam destroys minds and lowers IQ of all races. Arab civilization was slowly degraded over centuries of exposure to Islam.

Of course the Arabs have a lot of Negro in them.
The Egyptians are by far the most numerous of the Arab nations, and they're very clearly mixed race. Look at Anwar Sadat and Hosni Mubarak, to take just a couple of examples - their Congoloid bloodlines are clearly expressed in both of them. I've spent some time in Egypt, and I can assure you that the population is very clearly mixed race Negro and Caucasian. Lots of Negroid genes migrated north along the Nile over the past 6,000 years. It's unmistakable.
The Sudanese Arabs are utterly Negroid - their Arab president being a prime example.
Osama Bin Laden is also clearly Negroid in appearance. I've known several Saudi and Yemeni Arabs, and without exception they are Negroid in appearance. I saw a Saudi prince on television recently - he looked like a smaller and somewhat lighter version of the young Cassius Clay.
I've been to Oman - they're clearly mixed-race.
None of that is surprising, of course. Look at the location of Mecca in relation to Africa on any map. The Muslim movement swept up huge parts of Africa. The Arabs undoubtedly started out much whiter than they are now, but as the centuries passed those African genes spread throughout their gene pool.
The Arabs are mixed race. They're colored folks. Nice colored folks for the most part, I generally have no quarrel with them so long as they stay out of my ancestral homelands. But there's really no doubt that they are as a group of the world's colored races.
