Sertorius [OP]

I figured that this should be put in here as it too, is an American document that should be read also. Indeed, I think that it should be adopted with little, if any, revision, for it was written with the deliberate idea in mind of preventing the offenses done in the name of government that occur today.

With the additional safeguards written into it, it is easy to understand why academia doesn`t promote knowledge of it. The safe guards were based upon knowledge and first hand experience.

** In framing the Constitution of the Confederate States, the authors adopted, with numerous elisions and additions, the language of the Constitution of the United States, and followed the same order of arrangement of articles and sections. The changes made in this adaptation of the old Constitution are here shown. The parts stricken out are enclosed in brackets, and the new matter added in framing the Confederate Constitution is printed in italics.] **** A good "side by side" comparision between the U.S. and Confederate Constitutions. -S http://www.civilwarhome.com/csconstitution.htm --- ### Unexpurgated *2002-04-02 15:25* | [User Profile](/od/user/43) Thanks, Sert! Likewise, had the Articles of Confederation been maintained as our (inter)governmental framework, that 1861-5 unpleasantness would never have taken place. Pray that the Illuminist-Talmudic spell of the usurpers will be broken in this century.  This decade, better still. --- ### Sertorius *2003-02-22 07:24* | [User Profile](/od/user/26) Bumped in honor of its adoption today in 1862. --- ### Frederick William I *2003-02-22 08:26* | [User Profile](/od/user/58) A brave document, enacted by some brave men. Ultimately though, the Southern Constitution was a victim of that old saying of Spengler, that politics is not decided by parliaments, but armies. ---
