Former Neo-Nazi tells his story By Rebecca Jania Published: Wednesday, October 26, 2005 Article Tools: Page 1 of 3

Media Credit: Art Self III T.J. Leyden was 15 years old when he joined the white supremacist movement. He changed his ways when he realized his two young children were becoming as racist as himself.

At "StrHATE Talk," hundreds of members of the Western community learned that the white supremacist movement is alive in the United States, straight from the mouth of a reformed member.

T.J. Leyden was 15 years old when he joined the white supremacist movement. For the next 15 years, he committed violent acts against minority groups on a regular basis.

"The story I am about to tell is not one that I am proud to have to tell," Leyden said, speaking of his experience with the movement.

Leyden said he grew up in predominantly Caucasian areas. In 1978, Leyden got in the punk- rock movement. When his parents divorced in 1980, Leyden spent more time on the streets and going to punk rock shows. According to Leyden, this is where he became involved in the white supremacist movement.

"Punk rock was about anarchy," Leyden said. "Anarchy (is about) 'might makes right.' The biggest and strongest always wins."

Leyden became involved with the Neo-Nazis, who he said beat up anyone who is not white in order to make everyone hate as much as the Neo-Nazis do. However, Leyden added that many of their victims were Caucasian.

"Ninety percent of our victims were white kids from surrounding neighborhoods. A well-dressed white guy gets beat up for being a rich fag," Leyden said.

Leyden described how he joined the Marine Corps to get away from difficulties with the police. According to Leyden, military rules state that people can be members of a hate group and in the military as long as they are not active members of the hate group. Leyden said as an inactive member, he handed out white supremacist books and constantly watched programs about the white supremacist movement.

"I brought my racism and bigotry into the military with me," Leyden said.

Leyden said, while in the military, he was attempting to bring strong military individuals to the white supremacist movement to help when they attempted to overthrow the U.S. government as part of their separationalist nation plan. If this overthrow was successful, the goal, according to Leyden, would be to have races live in separate areas of North America rather than living together.

"If anyone tells you that the white (supremacist) movement is not using the United States Army, tell them to go out to Oklahoma City. There's a memorial there," Leyden said, referring to the Army trained Timothy McVeigh and the Oklahoma City bombing. "The United States better be careful about who it's training today, because tomorrow they might come back to bite (the United States)."

Leyden was discharged from the military for unruly behavior. According to Leyden, the skills he learned in the military led him to begin organized recruitment for the white supremacist movement. He said he recruited children age 12 and up to join the movement because the white supremacist movement and its members could act as a comfort zone for these individuals in their changing lives. He said when he saw a Caucasian child being beat up, he would go help the child. This child would then join the movement because they needed protection and got this from the person who saved them from violence, Leyden.

"There are 75,000 hardcore white supremacists in the United States every day trying to recruit (someone you know) to join this movement," Leyden said.

Leyden said the white supremacist movement has been recruiting more women than men in recent years because recruiting women will entice more men and because these women will raise their children as white supremacists. According to Leyden, an experience with one of his five sons helped him to reform from the white supremacist movement.

"I wish this incident would have never happened in my children's lives, but I thank God every day that it happened in mine," Leyden said.

According to Leyden, he was watching television with his young son Conrad when his older child Tommy came into the room, turned off the television, and said, "You know better than that Daddy. No nigger watching in the house." Leyden said at first he was proud that his son was becoming a white supremacist.

"I started thinking about my sons at 15 and 17. I started thinking about the 16 times I got arrested, the times I got shot at ... my friends whose moms are changing their diapers now, friends who are dead ... I kept looking at my kids and I was trying to find something, and I couldn't find it ... you hear a three-year-old boy say that, and you don't see any more innocence (in him)," Leyden said. Leyden said the next 18 months were difficult. He said he began questioning aspects of the white supremacist movement, such as where the movement would go should all of the other races in the world die off. Leyden moved to California. After reforming from the movement, he returned to Idaho where his wife, a fellow member of the white supremacist movement, and sons lived. He kidnapped his sons and agreed to return them to his wife after they divorced under the condition she moved to southern California.

"(The court said that) it was OK for the kids to attend any white supremacist rally as long as their mother was there to supervise," Leyden said.

Leyden turned over all of his racist propaganda to the research department at the Museum of Tolerance and was questioned for over two weeks about his experiences in the white supremacist movement. He began speaking to groups. According to Leyden, he has spoken to over 800,000 students and has convinced several to turn away from their previous bad lifestyles.

During his presentation, Leyden spoke against the misbelief that individuals in the white supremacist movement were all uneducated.

"You're looking at the world's most dangerous racists. They're educated men with ideas," Leyden said, pointing to photographs of three men with advanced educations who are leaders of the white supremacist movement. "Trust me, not all racists are rednecks with pickup trucks and baseball bats. Most of them in this nation are the opposite."

Leyden also discussed several examples of Neo-Nazism being mainstreamed into American culture. He gave examples of Neo-Nazi clothing, music, magazines and toys. According to Leyden, his sons were given Nazi action figures on accident as a gift by his brother.

"The Nazis aren't something to loathe, despise or even fear. They're something to cuddle with at night," Leyden said, discussing these action figures.

Leyden also provided political examples of the white supremacist movement. According to Leyden, two previous United States presidents were members of the Ku Klux Klan prior to being elected.

"Currently serving in the House and Senate there are 63 people who voted for segregation of black and white people," Leyden said.

Leyden offered suggestions to individuals wishing to help end white supremacism and racism in general. He suggested refusing to show up at any Neo-Nazi rallies to protest, stating that anyone who does so will just be used as an example by the Neo-Nazis as the reason why members cannot be proud of being white. He also suggested combating racist jokes. Lastly, he requested that everyone become a mentor for youth.

"I'm going to ask you guys to become a mentor. There is a kid somewhere in this community who needs you to help them learn to read, or to just be a friend," Leyden said. "I put 80 kids into the world of hate. I changed their lives completely, the lives of their families, the lives of their victims. What would it have been like if someone had gotten (to me as a mentor) at that age?"

This guy Leyden is an abomination to the white race. Sure, beating up people (how many white supremacists do you know who beat up people?) is very bad and counterproductive, but this guy completely sold out his birthright. You don't have to be a neo-nazi to be proud of your race or feel that multiculturalism is a grave disease and should be resisted.

We'll see what he has to say when his kids start dating niggers. Also, any report like this written by "Rebecca" Jania is supremely suspect. Here's a case when a first name gives away the racial identity of a person.

Well, if you have nothing else to be proud, about than you could be at least proud about your race – something that you have no merits for. I guess that why the idea of racial superiority is so popular amongst white trash.

If it wasn't for the White race, your silly ass wouldn't be sitting comfortably inside a heated home, with running water, with electricity to power your computer, to type your sad mutterings on the internet, inside a country that still has a modicum of free speech.

So shut your cake hole about racial superiority and White "trash".

Thanks very much to my race for a house, heating, running water etc. Even I thought before that many of those things have been invented at the times when our Indo-European ancestors have been predominantly living nomadic life. BTW, have you ever heard about saying “Ex Oriente Lux”? I’ll “shut my cake hole about racial superiority” of those damned Jews which dominate (= superior to) my race on so many scopes – at least currently as I read here - regardless they’re drastically outnumbered. Oh yes … and I wouldn’t calling your kind by … ehm … that name anymore, OK?

OK, sure. Whatever floats your boat. Whatever gets you through the night. You're free to believe that aliens from space live next door to you, I don't care. Now run along and take your medicine.

“Ex Oriente Lux”
That originally just refered to the location of the sunrise, and later was used to note that Christianity originated to the east of most Christians.
