OK, I've figured it out. Its only not working on this thread
Curious if anyone else can get the same error.

It doesn't work for me either.

I guess its just a little glitch in the software. If it turns into anything serious I suppose we can initiate our usual remedies and ask the usual people.

Okie,
I haven't checked this, but I bet if you access the "Mod" button at the bottom of the page and went on to the "Blue page" you could do whatever it is you wanted to do.

What's y'all's problem??
Works for me.
What's y'all's problem??
:)
I have no idea TD. It's just one thing one one thread. But actually this thread just started to do the same thing for me. Which means I can't do my usual mod tricks of reassigning, merging or splitting the thread if I'm so inclined. If the thread is in the wrong section, is repetitive etc. Which is probably only of concern to me really.
If I'm not mistaken, those toolbar functions are javascript functions. I'm getting more javascript errors showing up on my browser - maybe my Windows is getting old and needs to be refreshed.
But like I say, its no bigee - I wouldn't really worry about it. Usually the toolbar works fine. I don't understand why it doesn't occasinally, but I learned with computers if you scratch your heads over every minor problem that's all you'll ever have time for.

I've just about lost all my functions this morning. Something is screwed up here, Tex.

OK, what exactly are y'all trying to do that's not working?
2005-11-01 20:41 | User Profile
Jason,
For me it was the loss of the "thread tools" and the "search feature" on the task bar at the top of the page. I also lost the "delete" button at the bottom of the page used in conjunction with the check boxes by the side of each post. I don't know about rest of the tools (save "new posts"- works) on the task bar, as I didn't think about checking them.
I had these feature other than what I wrote above this morning when I read some of the crap written by those idiots that trashed things last night and decided to remove some of the worst posts. My intention was to use the thread tool button to bring up the whole thread where I could check the boxes.(I note there are two ways to do this.) Clicking the thread tool box wouldn't bring out the drop down menu. I next made use of the check box feature on the thread itself and was able to eliminate the offending posts for one clown. For the rest of them I was not able, so I decided to dump the entire thread, as they were filled with nothing redeeming and save the original starting post which was sent back to the originator for reposting.
I have two different types of browsers on this thing that I tried to use. Right now, things are working on this thread. I'll have to randomly check some of the others to see if this happens again. I hope this helps.

Thanks Ryan.
Don Black mentioned to me that this new version of vbulletin had some quirks with the javascript on the roll down menus and how he had to rebuild some things or something. One time I did have a problem with the search tab, but everything seems to work for me now.
I'll send a message to Don and see what he can tell me about it. I'll let you know.
Rgds,

Jason,
You're welcome.
I've been spot checking and it looks like the functions work 3/5 of the time.
BTW, "Fatman" shows on his information page that he uses "Axel01" as a reference. I wonder if all of those clowns that came on last night were some of his buddies he invited when he discovered that we're not exactly fired up about netnazis here?

Hell, I don't know. I've been so busy at work I didn't even know we had a blow-up last night until you mentioned it. As always, thanks for policing the place.

Darn, Jason. I was hoping to see how our buddy Axel01 would going to answer this post: http://www.originaldissent.com/forums/showpost.php?p=135056&postcount=34 I think he means "this" instead of "that".
I saw the post above last night and figured where he was going. It appears you helped him along.

Hey,
with regards to the java script roll-out menus, Don said he rebuilt the skins at SF and that fixed the problem. I have to look at how that all works a little bit and will probably try and tackle it over the weekend. It shouldn't cause any disruption on the board. FYI.

It's been so long since I've done anything with the basic outlay or programming of the board I've forgotten all the ins and outs of vbulletin. I was surprised everything went as well as it did when I upgraded the board a few weeks back as I hadn't upgraded in well over a year. It took a stern prompting from Don about security risks to the entire server to get me off my butt. :)

No biggee if you find a couple of weekends with better things to do. Sounds to me like problem you've got to love playing with to get involved with it at all.

Hey Dave,
Sorry, but I did find something else to involve my time last weekend, namely starting on repainting my daughter's room to get it done before her birthday on the 22nd. Doing some sheetrock patching now which is always fun stuff.
I did get an answer from Don on the problem. Please don't hold me down on any specific time frame though, if you can bear with me for a little bit longer.

:crybaby:
I expected such, and actually its a problem we can live with perfectly well really, take all the time you need. I just wanted to make sure we didn't get into "hey, I thought we'd agreed we'd already fixed this" although I know you aren't that kind of person." Right now we can consider the problem diagnosed, which is a big part of the problem in the first place. However when you do have a fix we will need to retest and verify the fix. That's why I just wanted to stay in touch. But for know though, I'll assume things are unchanged until you say otherwise.
Golly, I never kicked holes in the wall or broke anything (well almost never  )
